  4. Those are the types of people that give true hunters a bad name.

  11. Wow, give those guys a big congrats on a couple of great bucks.
  12. Congrats on the deer and also for helping out others with the meat.
  13. Well, the ol' man has done it again. During the WI gun season this past week Dad kept his luck running. After a 3 year dry spell with the gun he takes 2 does and his biggest buck ever. The buck had a 15" inside and should have been a 10 point but unfortunately one G2 was broke off completely and the other G2 was broke about halfway up. Nonetheless it was a great buck and I am very proud of him and the year he has had. That makes 4 on the year for him (1-7pt w/bow, 2 does and 1-9pt w/gun). He's kicking my butt this year, it's been about 20 years since I got skunked during gun season. So, I'm in the stands still working for mine this year. Here are some pics of Dad w/ his buck. Good job and great season Dad.
  14. We had the same results in our area of WI as well. Some of the guys I know said there were not a lot of deer being seen. My Dad took 3 over the week. This is the first year I haven't shot one in over 15 years. I saw quite a few, but they were all on the neighbors property who won't let anybody hunt. I never saw one under 450-500 yds. I'll hit the stand here again here in a couple days and try score with the bow. We also have the late antlerless hunt coming up yet. Hopefully I can at least fill a couple doe tags.
  15. Congrats to both of you and welcome to the forums.
  16. Congrats to Shane on very nice 1st buck.

    Found In Back Yard

Great buck, to bad he died that way.
  20. I started using a green light this year and that to isn't near as bright, but gives me enough to find my walk plank over the creek so I don't end up in the creek. As far as spooking deer, not sure. I would think the noise is going to spook them no matter what color light you use.
  21. Congrats on a great buck and an unforgetable season. I had a season like that last year. Took 3 with the bow (1 being my biggest buck to date) and 6 during the gun season. I think I'm paying for it this year LOL. My luck has not been near as good but still putting in the time. The only thing that is for sure about bowhunting is "You can't get one sitting in the house." I've put in just over 30 days so far, I just keep telling myself tonight might be the night. Again congrats on a great season and all the help you have given your friends.
  22. Congrats on a nice doe, keep up the good work.
