Congrats on the doe Sam! I know ya feel bad about the shot, but feeling bad over a bad shot is what makes you a good ethical hunter! That may sound crazy but some of these morons that just sling arrows and bullets wildly would give a care about that shot and they make the rest of us look bad! Since you practice so much, at least ya know you can shoot! It may be just a nerve thing that ya got to get control over before you shoot! Good luck on getting a nice buck!

You know one crazy idea to do and I know guys who have shot 180-190 class deer doing it is to pee in the scrape! lol I swear! They smell the unknown testosterone and not human scent! They foriegn male oeder ticks them off that his scrape is being used by something else!! lol

I agree with Bloodtrails! You have to shoot the bows to see what feels good to you! Thats how I chose my bow and man am I glad! I was going to buy a Hoyte and ended up with a Mathews. I liked how smooth and quiet it was. You just got to go with what works for you! Dont go by what tv show or pro hunter shoots. Your not them and what they shoot may not be the best for you. Its not that the bucks in your hunting spot aren't in rut, but its the fact that you only saw one doe! What I mean is that if the bucks are in rut, they are with the does! You need to find a spot where the does like to hang out and not just one doe. If you find the does you will find the bucks!!

Nice buck there AvonLKHunter! I hunt in Guernsey County myself and there are alot of nice deer down that way. Congrats on the deer!

One was by X-Static and the other was by Scent IQ. Along with the H.S. Scent free spray I have yet to be busted down wind by a deer while spot stalking or in a treestand! I believe that with the scent control products and the antimicrobial clothes the deer dont stand a chance! This has happened SEVERAL TIMES cause of the property I hunt, I cant always hunt with the wind.

I shoot Rocky Mountain Premier 100 gr fixed blad. Boy are they outstanding!! I think for their price that they have to be one of the best. I saw were someone shot one into a steel pipe accidentally and the blades didnt beak for bend!! The guy cut that piece of the pipe out and the archery shop had it for a while! When I saw that the 3 blades went into the pipe and never broke or bent the blades that this was the broadhead for me!

I agree Newt. Stay with that deer. I have spooked deer before and had them come back an hour or so later. I dont think its so much as spooking them that bumps them nocturnal as if they smelled ya and you spooked them!! If you keep spooking them in the same tree that deer will get smart and change its patter or start coming to that tree and looking up everytime to see if your there!!! If you can move your stand a bit to another tree, you should. Use that spook to your advantage!!!! If that deer gets wise to you sitting in a particular tree..move to another tree so that your old spot is still in range. This way when the deer comes in and looks up that tree to see if your there, then you'll be in posistion to take the shot!!!

I bet the wild bucks do come down to the fences Live! I bet they get so ticked that they cant get to the does that its one heck of a show!!! lol It would only make sence that would happen!

I hunt Washington and Guernsey Counties. Man I think the rut is starting to kick in. My buddy shot an button buck thinking it was a doe on Thursday Oct 25th and he stunk! Then Sunday we hunted Guernsey and we saw does and bucks everywhere!! The boys are looking for a date to the dance! lol Deer and Deer says that they think the Seeking Phase should have begun on the Oct 27 and the Chasing Phase should start on the 31rst!!! I think they may be right! I can not tell you how many does and bucks we saw today cause there were so many! Hang on folks cause I think this year is gonna be good!!!!!!

I agree with ya Tominator. I have never seen a Ohio deer with a wrist watch! They come and go whenever they want! lol You would have to have so many trail cameras to pattern one here that you would think you were hunting in a science lab!lol I have never really had much luck with store bought scents and I was a strong believer in not urinating in my hunting area until I heard a few stories. I would hear guys talk about peeing from their treestands, and then as early as 15 minutes or more, deer would come over to it to smell it. Well after thinking about that I tried that this year! lol Well the test proved that does do like a morning cup of coffee as well! lol The one doe came right to where I peed and smelled it. She was never startled or spooked from it. I also know a buddy who has shot a couple 180+ class deer that pees in a bucks scrape to make it mad!! Say that doesnt work? Thats how he gets the big boys to come in!!!! lol

Thats good to hear HG! I was out Saturday and Sunday. Sunday I just saw a couple of does but the woods were quiet, I think do to the 20 mph wind. Sunday was a lot bettersaw three Bucks one was nice the other 2 were spikes. I saw about 7 does. I was about to let an arrow fly at one of the does when she stepped right behind a tree ans I was half way squeezed on my backtention release! Not sure how it didnt go off when I let the arrow down!! lol No shots this weekend but the rut is heating up. We saw a ton of does and several bucks out in fields on the way back to the stands after lunch break that my buddy insisted we take!!!! I am hoping to get out Friday maybe or Sunday. Good luck team!

Its all mind control boys!!!! If ya go into battle over dirty peanut butter knives..she'll nail your butt with washing off car parts in the bath tub! If ya go after her for forgetting the clothes in the washing machine over night she'll come back with....well your mother anoise me! Then she wins cause youll just stand there in a daise wondering what to say to that cause that had nothing to do with the aguement, and she will walk away before you realized what happened!!! Then later that night she remembers that you picked the fight and you get to sleep that night instead of getting some lovin cause of your mother(???)!! LOL

I get that crap too but I just say "Nope, she's watching me!"
