  1. That's a great buck for sure. The story is even better!
  2. Re: NASCAR, if anybody cares I don't like 70 year olds on the road much less in a race! It looks like NASCAR will do ANYTHING for a buck these days! I wonder how they will feel if he dies in a crash?!
  3. Re: Mark Mcgwire Ball \"juiced\"???? The players have absolutely nothing to do with the balls that are used so how can it be blamed on them? If the criticism is going to be so harsh on anyone that breaks the HR records then they should just let the 61* HR record stand and say that no other will be recognized! I mean, surely noone could beat it without cheating, right?
  4. Re: Which Used ATV I don't agree with Honda being the best, atleast not anymore. All of the major brands these days are about as equal as you can get, trust me, I've had atleast one from every brand over the past 10 years. From the options you have listed my choice would be a yamaha kodiak, I had an 04 and loved it. I liked the feel and power of it alot more than my rancher before it. Just keep the oil changed and everything serviced and it won't matter what brand you buy.
  5. Re: my new source of heat (pic) wood smoke is one of the best cover scents you could ever have!
  6. Re: new realtree camo I like it alot. It reminds a little of seclusion from Cabelas.
  7. Re: Official Off the Porch Gang signup thread!!!!! Thanks for the silver membership! I forgot to add my two pistols, a S&W .44 magnum and my baby, .50 cal desert eagle!
  8. Re: leupoldvxIII I like the Aetec also but only on light recoil rifles. My .300 RUM yanked the guts out of two of them.
  9. Re: Official Off the Porch Gang signup thread!!!!! I own a 7mm rem mag, winchester .300WSM, and a newly aquired sendero 7mm RUM and I love them all! I won't own anything less! I also don't care for cocoa! I've never heard of a deer being TOO dead but I dang sure have seen a bunch wounded by calibers too small. So please, get me off the porch.
  10. Re: The WIFE is MIFFED ... Don't know what to tell ya my friend. In my house my money is mine and hers is just that, hers. Maybe I'm just lucky? Oh yeah, you shouldn't have let her know about the stash!
  11. Re: Have a Happy New Year thread! HAPPY NEW YEAR! I hope all of your dreams and wishes come true!
  12. Re: mount or not If you don't you will most likely regret it the rest of your life. You may never kill the "perfect" buck for the wall. There are plenty I wish I could go back and mount but those days are long gone now.
  13. Re: Are you happy? I had on ok season here in Virginia. I missed an opportunity on a huge 8 point the opening day of bow season and ruined the rest of it trying to see him again. I finally moved on during ML but didn't see much to get excited about. By Rifle season I started to get a bit burnt out, saw alot of deer including a bunch of bucks on the edge of being mountable. I finally punched a doe and two days later an 8 point hawg with a 19 and a half inch inside spread. I have my buck so now I'll set in on the does. I do have to say that this was probably my most patient season yet. I let alot of bucks walk that I would have shot a few years back. I'm still not sure if it was because of maturity or laziness! I saw 3 hawgs during bow season that would never come in close and hopefully they will make it till next year, if not there are plenty left to grow another year to take their place!
  14. Re: Any new rifles for Christmas ?? Thanks for the welcome, I've actually been a member since 03 but have been away a bit and I guess my profile got deleted. By the way, the scope arrived yesterday evening so I popped it on. Man is this one sweet looking rig! I'm thinking about swapping the HS stock out for a Accurate Innovations laminate baby in Ghost finish! That should be a true beauty! I plan on wringing a few through the tube this weekend so I'll let you know how she does.
  15. Re: leupoldvxIII Guys I'm not trying to sound like a broken record but if you haven't looked through an elite 4200 you really should give it a shot. I searched hard and long and read alot of info on optics forums before I would buy into it myself and could kick myself for not trying it sooner. The top guys on all the forums swore that the elite 4200 was right there with the Zeiss and at around $440 it can't be beat. It's guaranteed magnum proof and has the warranty to back it up. It also has the optional firefly reticle which I can attest to works great. I have the 2.5-10X50 and absolutely love it, so much so I'll buy another for my next rifle. I know the name Bushnell screams "cheap" to alot of you, it did me as well, but this is no ordinary Bushnell scope. Like I said, do some searching and you will see, it's ranked above the loopy, Nikon Monarch, and Burris and right with the Zeiss but costs less than them all.
  16. Re: Any new rifles for Christmas ?? I just bought myself a christmas gift, a new remington sendero chambered in 7mm rem ultra mag. I'm topping it with a 2.5-10X50 Bushnell Elite 4200. I don't think it's what the wife had in mind when she told me to get whatever I wanted, oh well! The scope should be here in a day or so, can't wait to wring it out. Merry Christmas everybody!
  17. Re: leupoldvxIII I too was a big Loopy fan until I looked through my first Bushnell elite 4200! I haven't looked back since. They have better glass, warranty is just as good and the price is alot better.
