I know just what you mean my 2 dogs mean the world to me,I lost a dog to cancer last year and I'm about to put my mom's dog to sleep next month due to cancer and I love that dog.Dog's are definitely man's best friend,I wish you all the luck in the world with your dog and my prayers are sent your way.

congrats on your new hunting buddy,first advice I have to give you is make sure you have plenty of chew toys they LOVE to chew.Also lots of patience,I have 2 labs both came from breeders,1 my female lab dosen't have a hunting back ground but she dose great in the field,my male both parents are field champs,they are both black.I trained them myself I started useing bumpers and worked my way up to pheasant dummies with sent drops.I read a lot and watched a lot of videos.I plan on taking them to school next year for more advance training.If you want to ask me for any advice I'll be glad to give it to you.just e-mail me Goodluck
