    Rattle Snake

Re: Rattle Snake That ain't no rattler, thats a flippin python.
  8. Re: What would you change... I would change the dates on rifle season here in Nebraska, so they weren't during the rut. That would eliminate all of the success road hunters have.
  9. Re: 3 Bearded Turkey Down (With Video) Awesome bird...CONGRATS!!
  10. While I was turkey hunting this weekend and admiring some birds just out of range , I had to sit back and just soak it all in and think to myself isn't God great. He gave us the great outdoors to enjoy and yet so many people in this world are to busy with other things to just sit back and take it in. God has given us the greatest show on earth and it is completely commercial free with no re-runs. I stand in awe everyday at his majesty portrayed in nature, from turkeys, to sunsets, to clouds, to the stars. you can see his face everywhere you look if you really want to, yet most people are too stressed, upset, worried, angry, or whatever the case may be, to even take a glance. I think if everyone took one moment out of their day to admire God's handy work the world would be a better place. Just a thought of mine.
  11. Well I posted on Friday that I had found were the big boys were roosting and hanging out, and was going in to get one on Sat. I got in there well before sunup and set up my blind and decoys. They were gobbling like crazy just before sun up and I was giving some light calls hoping to coax them in right off the roost. once the sun got up a little more I realized that there was about 25-30 birds in the trees. A lot more than I originally thought. Once they all flew down I counted about around 17 strutting jakes and toms. I called and called and then tried not calling for awhile, nothing seemed to work. they just stayed about 75-100 yards out. They were talking a little, but a lot of the toms were chasing jakes around. So I don't know if I did something wrong or they just hung up on me, but they weren't at all interested in me. Oh well, it was still awesome to see and beats sitting in class or at work any day.
  12. Re: More pics of spring break project Its about 16 feet to the windows, so we should be able to see pretty far.
  13. I went home this weekend for Easter and got to take some pics of the deer blind my dad, my brother and I built. We call it motel 8. . The blind overlooks this small plot that we are going to pant a clover and legume mix in. This is the other plot that it overlooks that we are also going to plant the clover mix in. Anther pic after we cut out some trees.
  14. Well guys, I just got back from putting three Longbeards to sleep along with about nine other jakes and hens. The tree they are in overlooks a picked wheat field with lots of volunteer wheat in it. I know the perfect spot to set up tomorrow about 75 yards away from the tree. So with a little luck and some straight shooting(but we all know how that can go) I should have a big ol' gobbler tomorrow. I will give you the update tomorrow...and hopefully some pics .
  15. Anyone here shot a deer out of a groundblind? I just got one this year for turkey and want to try and use it on a deer or two this season. I have heard that the deer will get spooky without the windows covered and if it is not concealed with cut branches and brush. How much do you have to conceal your blind in the cover for it to be effective?
  16. This weekend is suppose to be cold and they are also calling for a little snow. How will this affect the birds? Or will it even bother them at all? I heard reports of them breaking up, but not much talkin yet in my part of the country.
  17. Re: 1st turkey with a bow Congrats man...now I am fired up to get out this weekend.

  20. Re: Update on cabin....*pics* That is pretty sweet!
  21. Re: Has anybody ever seen an albino doe or buck alive? Used to see an albino buck all the time, He used to hang around a feedlot. Rumor is someone poached it, if true, thats a sad ending for a beautiful deer.
  22. This is what I did over springbreak, while everyone else goes to Mexico i was at home putting up a deer box for rifle season and cutting down trees for food plots. I don't have any pictures of the blind yet, but will post them as soon as I can. Here are some photos of the area it will cover. This is to the south of it, and is dryland corn, but my dad is thinking about putting it to alfalfa. This is to the north, it is small 1 acre opening that is going to be put to a clover/legume mix from Arrow Seeds. This is a picture of the spring fed creek that runs through our property. There will be one more acre food plot to the west when it is all said and done, but it has turned into a fun project for me, my dad, uncle , brother, and grandpa and should be a prime spot come fall. I will post more pics when I get them.
  23. Re: Wal-Mart=Walley World Sorry this was suppose to be over in the lounge.
  24. Does everyone call Wal-Mart by its real name, Walley-World? Who would have thought that oh Clark Griswald could have set off such a name change. Sorry for this post, I just came back from Wal-Mart and heard a couple people call it Walley-World and thought it was funny. P.S. I am also really bored .
