  6. I am looking for a new pack frame and wanted to get some input on what everyone is using. I want one that can be used as a back pack and also used to pack out meat. Thanks for your input. Lee,
  7. Keep up the hard work. Looks like you are getting into the birds. It is hot here to. If you can get in front of those gobblers you may have a chance at ambushing them. That is what I had to do last year in Oregon. I found 4 gobblers in the bottom of a draw and they did not want to play. So I ran up the other side of this ridge and up to the top then went straight down to the same logging road but higher up the Mt. I was able to get in front of them and I was able to seal the deal with the last gobbler in the group he was the biggest. When I shot him, the first bird was only 5 feet from me and the last was 20 yards. It was hot that day and they would hardly gobble. As my hunting buddy Lombard would say "You have to put the ninja sneak on them" and that is just what I was able to do. Have fun out there and shoot them in the face. Go Team Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  9. Turkey Snipers on the board!! One Shot One Kill!!!!!!!!!! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I was able to go up North to hunt this last weekend and I shot a respectable bird. I will have the stats on the other check in site. What a great hunt my hunting partner and I were able to talk two long beards into flying a crossed thee Clearwater River and that was the first and last mistake that they made I had never seen birds fly that far they flew about 150 to 175 yards over to use. I will hold off a little longer the next time that I go up North because I could have gotten a better bird but I am used to getting skunked and took the shot. He did not like the decoys that we had out and I was forced to shoot him at 63 yards, dropped him like a sack of potatoes. He started to flop after about five min. We had two birds coming in and thought that we may be able to take the other as well. I hope that everyone else is having as much if not more fun then me. Good Luck to all. GO Team Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lee, SUBMISSION FORM: Copy & paste this form. Print it off and complete the form with your turkey's measurements and required signatures. 10. OOO Yessss this year is turning out to be very nice. I just love to hunt in the spring. On those birds that you hear a long way off you may try getting as close to the location as fast as you can in the morning (you may have to jog or walk very fast but close the distance) and sit down and call very soft so the birds can hear you as if you were only 100 yards away. When he hears you he will know that you are there and sooner or later (Usually later) he will come in to your set-up after he is finished servicing his hens. Take a good book and maybe a mini blind so if he comes in quiet he will not see you turning the pages. They call this hunting for a reason. If it was called killing I do not think that it would be as fun. Being in the woods is one of the coolest things that our creator has provided for us to do. My wife tells me that I should go and live in the woods, but I would miss her so I do not. Good luck to all and have fun out there. Lee,
  11. Pics for ljmelea Here are the pictures for ljmele Allow me to be the first to congratulate you on such a fine bird. Lee, (Go Turkey Snipers Go!!!!!)
  12. I was thinking the same thing Lou, Do we still have a team? Iknow that you are starting on the 7th but I have not heard from anyone on this team for weeks. I have PMed every body and the only one I have heard from was huntin4bucks he was not doing so well the last time I talked to him. maybe he will give us an update. I go for my second bird this Sunday and my 3rd in Oregon the last week of the mounth. Have a good one. Lee, Go Team Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. Season opener Last Sunday was our opener and I thought that it would be great. I was wrong I hiked into my spot witch was the normal way I thought people hunt. but no I was set up and giving a few tree purrrrs and in drove a truck to within 100 yards of me and stopped owl called once and turkeys gobbled and they started to call and the birds went right to them. I was pissed. They shot twice and the birds scattered 20 min later they called again and shot 8 more times. I was not a happy camper. Next year I will fall some trees a crossed the road. People like that do not work for the birds should not have as good of luck. They probably road hunt on there 4 wheelers to but daunt get me started on that one. Good luck to all. Heading to north Idaho Thursday to get a bird. Go Team Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  15. Well the early youth hunt in Idaho was last weekend and wow did I have a good time. I took two young boys and there fathers out to hunt turkeys. They had a great time. On Saturday I took Brandon to a spot that the year before I had a bird shot out from under me. This time I went in a little deeper and found several gobblers that wanted to play. Brandon had a cold and every time I would get a bird all hot and bothered he would cough and that was the end of it. After chasing birds half way to Montana I decided that we should leave them well enough alone and work them the next day. We left and went to another spot about 10 miles away and got a bird to respond about 2 miles away and high tailed it to his location. We ended up climbing to the top of the same ridge that the gobbler was and started to work him. It did not take long and he was on his way in to our setup. I could see him display and move in from about 300 yards. It only took him about 5 minutes to come in. Brandon could not see very well due to a stump eye level to him. When he did see him he stayed calm and collected I told him that if he coughed it would be the end of the show he did well and at 28 foot steps I told him he could take him when ever he wanted and he did. Perfect hit the gobbler fell in his tracks and didn’t even twitch. What a great day. When I figure out how to post pics I will put them on here. The next day was Zack’s turn and we did much of the same as the day before but we got into some jakes and worked them for about 45 min and Zack got a shot at one and missed him. We worked several more birds that day but there is something about 11 year old boys that make them move around and every time I would get a bird to come in no matter how much I would tell him to keep still the bird would see him and we were busted. That’s turkey hunting. If it were easy we would not do it. Fun was had by all. All in all we had a great time and I highly recommend that everyone take a kid hunting it will change your life. Season opens for me the 15 of April and you know were I’ll be in heaven I love to hunt Dear God thank you for the time you give us in the woods. 19. Re: Single Shot Shotguns I have one of the same guns in my safe as well. I was going to see if I could have it drilled and taped for chokes but I have not done it yet. All I can say is buy some shells and pattern it do not take anyone’s word for how well there gun shoots(that’s great and all) but every gun shoots differently. Make sure you know exactly how good your personal gun does. I was also going to get a recoil pad for mine singles kick a little especially a small kid.
  20. Re: TURKEY TEAM #5 I went for a hike yesterday afternoon and I was there for about 2 hours and I say 2 long beards and 2 jakes. They are not gobbling yet seamed weird to me. I will be taking a youth there the weekend before opener. Nothing beats seeing a kid shoot his or hers first bird. Good Luck everybody Go Team Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Re: camo shotguns Bomb can it! They make paint that will come off with a little elbow grease. I have a friend that has a 20 gauge that is painted and it is a killing machine. If anybody says anything about it tell them to buy you a custom camo gun. Its not how fancy your stick is its the magic in it.
  22. Re: TURKEY TEAM #5 Does anyone know how to make one of those fancy team logos? If so how about making one up. I can’t I do not know how or I would do it. Lee,
  23. Re: My turkey experiment...... They are cool and so cute when there little. They also teast good with sage nut dressing. lol Lee,
