  2. Heres a video from my new trail camera(I-40) of a small buck, surprised its -20 and this camera is still working, just thought id post one.
  3. What a deer, i can only wish, beautiful:eek: I think he does look a lot bigger though by how the pics were taken, the hunter makes sure he's back farther than the deer in every picture, just has that effect Sweet buck, love the width and mass
  4. 308. is a great gun, i took my moose and my forest deer with that gun, For long shots when i hunt the farm land i use a 25-06, I find for those long shots the 308. does not cut it from bullet drop, missed me a good deer last year:(. Id get a 30-06 great bush gun, Great for long shots, Good knock down power, good bullet variety, its an all around great gun.
  5. We had a cold string of weeks that got into the high -30's C and -40 C with the wind. Its around -25 now at night and its just to much for them camera's and me lol:D:D
  6. Here's a small buck didnt stick around for another picture, Real cold up here batteries just are not lasting long enough to leave the camera's out. Brightened it as best i could
  7. The CWD tags come in a series, anterless, 3 point buck and then you earn a buck tag. All the heads of these animals have to be submitted so even if you do get a buck, big or small, you have to cut the horns off with a saw. So no trophy hunting there, These tags only affect a limited number or zones, only a few. CWD tests are not done in the forest where all the outfitting is taking place, no lose there. Besides there is no big bucks in Saskatchewan to begin with.
  8. On the decline No, there is still a larger number of great bucks out there, although a string of harsh winters did play a good part in this years buck quality. More noticable off the farm land in the forest, deer numbers are down from winter kill there, and since all outfits are forest fringe or forest i can see where you are coming from when saying not as many trophy deer were taken in the camps. Know a few outfitters that had the same luck. quality bucks are still there;)
  9. Good question maybe a doeck:rolleyes:
  10. Just purchased this scope to put on my 25-06 was wondering if anyone out there had any experience with it, And if so how do you like it. SASKHUNTER
  11. Took a deer at roughly 400 yards this weekend big doe and a few coyotes im loving this gun, Really fast and flat shooting, doesnt make much damage when those shots are way out there though.
  12. Ya alot of the dads friends have hunted for years and have never seen nothing like it, shes pretty cool, a euro mount would kinda be a peice to talk about but she was tagged for CWD and we have to summit the head
  13. What size do you generally resize your pictures to post them, ive tried 640x480 or 800x600 but they all seem to make the pictures look awkward or alot thicker, just wondering what you guys all resize your pictures too
  14. Dad took this doe this weekend, she was with a fawn walking through the willows as they crossed into the feild. Walking up to her we noticed she was way bigger than any average doe. Turns out she has a little spike that splits at the end in velvet. She has only female reproductive system, really unusual doe, we figure she is around 8 years old, ive never seen anything like her, man she was fat, skinning her was something:D:D
  15. Grabbed dads 25-06 from the gunroom, i havent shot this gun alot and my dad does not use it now that he has a 30-06. Its a real nice gun so im planning on sighting it in real nice. I was just wondering what can i expect from this gun, how far of shots can i make with enough knock down power to take down a deer or what would be a safe distance( just wondering with such a small bullet). How is knock down power in general, Any other info would be great Thanks
  16. looking good, still have a few to get a deer or a buck and were in second;) Do they have any prizes yet?
  17. I have passed the top buck already, And im not hunting these deer hard, I accually think a road warrior got the top one already. Never seen anything decent during the daylight hours so im thinking of leaving this area till next year. Both would be great bucks next year
