Me and my dad had been setting up stands and really putting alot of effert into locating some big deer since oct, well ive been rotating my camera site to site and found this particular buck that really caught my interest. We had been scouting this area with this camera and had the buck all figured out, so yesterday afternoon i took the liberty of skipping math my last class of the day to get settled in the stand nice and early, seeing small bucks all day and not a whole lot of action i figured whats to lose staying that extra 10 minutes and not heading home early so i pushed my luck till the last ten minutes before dark. Thats when i heard it, willows and brush being broken to my right and a small doe ran into my shooting lane quickly being followed by thick mainbeams and tall tines, my safety clicked off hard as the buck stepped into my shooting lane and he looked up, thats when i knew it was him from my pictures, Heart pounding and palms sweating i raised the ol 308. and put him down in his tracks.:D
Sorry for no feild pictures i was alone this hunt and had to do all work of hauling him of the bush out and gutting him by myself before dad showed up, or i would of had some purdy pictures of him in the pines.
Here is one of the many pictures i have of this buck just starting to show himself with enough light out to hunt him
He scores 175 gross even and the nets for fish;)
