Lil hunter, man i just got my ar-15 setup from DPMS less than a month ago and i can hardly put it down, you wont regret ever getting one. The ammo is cheap enough so that a box of 55gr FMJ's are only 5bucks = $.25 a shot.My profile picture is of mine and i cant stay away from the range. It is simply put THEE perfect just to shoot gun out there. With my 270wsm costing over $2.50 a shot i get 10 shots of 223 for just 1 shot of 270.Go with the AR you wont regret it. Just simply click on the picture of my setup its amazing.

If any of you all experienced members were to buy a scope from a website, where would you buy it from.

Anyone doing any shooting this Holiday Weekend?
Rinky replied to Rem308's topic in Rifles & Accessories
I most definitely wont be able to stay away from the range this coming weekend. I just might have to take some pics and post them as well. -
The barnes triple shocks simply destroy deer. Theyre in my opinion worth all the hype of an all copper bullet. My 270 wsm put a deer down within 20 yards of where he was hit with only a 130gr bullet so you wont have a problem with them Im sure.

Im looking for a good scope around $250, dealer cost. Im currently stuck on either a Leupold VX-II OR a nikon buckmaster The scope should be near 3-9 or better i like the 4.5-14 nikon offers and theyre reasonably priced. Any thoughts, suggestions would be nice. Thanks.

I just got my ar-15 from DPMS its the panther sweet 16, its got a free-floated heavy stainless steel barrel with an a3 flat-top and no fixed front sight. at 100 yards im already shooting 1/2 inch groups with no load development as of yet and a really (and i mean really) ****** barska scope that is soon to be replaced with a nikon. DPMS from what i have read has always been well-known for accuracy and customer satisfaction. Their pricing is also well below other comparable sellers.

Pretty simple here, have you ever used one, and how did it perform for you.

The reason this place is so awesome... chains of words like that. HAHA.

I believe winchester is being shipped from a european country or something? Correct me if im wrong but Im 99% sure theyre all made overseas now. The local gun seller told me, maybe i didnt hear right.

From what Ive read/heard and from the stories my dad has told me this year alone, theyre great. He had a mulie at 225 or so and hit it in the shoulder and dropped the deer in its tracks. His stepson did the same thing less than 2 weeks later with the same gun using 300 WSM fusions 2 dead bucks 2 bullets used great bullets imo.

I dont know if you can get a 270wsm with encore but hey I love mine and its got enough power for bear im sure of it.

I just shot my 270WSM with the barnes bullets and put 2 holes in my buck quartered away at 230 yards -- both the size of ur fist on the exit side. Split his heart in two.

Yeah, we took the washers out and shot a couple groups this weekend at 100 yards the groups were good enough to hide under a quarter -- who needs washers.

Yikes the last thing i wanna do is ruin my new gun and my perty face. Im not totally sure if i said what he did exactly correct however. I talked to him about it more and he said 2/3 the front screw is holding and that the back screw doesnt have a washer.

I just got back from a week at college to come home and shoot my .270 WSM weatherby vanguard synthetic and i took a look at it... did the double take and saw the barrel was raised quite a bit. Looked to my step-dad and he chuckled. He and his brother took out the barrel and bolt region, put two small washers on the screws that lock the gun down to the stock. This gave the barrel a free-float and it looks great. the dollar bill worked perfectly, what do you guys think of this?

Simply Amazing.

Yeah, the tape seems perfect to me, it barely ever rains in ND. Except for this last year... crops are 10 feet tall. Ill just replace the tape occasionally run the barrel down good and put new stuff on.

I cant decide what to do with my gun to break the outline up, the paint in my opinion is alot of hassle. Ne 1 used standard Camo tape, like an athletic tape, If this isnt too big of trouble ill just rub it with sandpaper to make it fuzzy.

Ne 1 got some say on this?

http://www.cpcartridge.com/270wsmB.htm This website is an amazing source of info on all the rounds they sell too. The Nosler 150gr. ballistic tips really seem to shine.

Ya, its just that me being a poor college kid currently, its not easy to experiment on a box that will cost me 45 bucks. One question, my gun is pretty darned new, ive only shot 1 box of shells, and ive heard i need to shot 3-4 more boxes to get the barrel set or something. Is this right?

I am having trouble deciding what kind of bullet i want for my .270 WSM -- I don't reload since im in college and don't have the time or equipment available. This November i will be with my dad in the mountains hunting elk, and we will be using my 270 wsm because my dad's .300 was stolen 2 weeks ago. I also plan to do alot of deer hunting this season too and think the 150gr. bullets should be fine for both seasons. I was shopping around as best i could and found several good bullets custom made on this website: http://www.cpcartridge.com/cart2/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=1_35 The bullets found there are fairly expensive but they're pretty top notch. I hear all these great things about the Barnes TSX bullets but fowling is an issue? I just need some in depth help. I was leaning toward the 150gr. TSX, but maybe i should wait for the XP3's? Help.
