Been extremely slow here. No one I have talked to is seeing anything for action. Havent had any of our big bucks on camera for about a month now. Getting worried they may have been harvested.

Was hoping to get out this last weekend. Mother nature had other plans, as it poured all day saturday and sunday. Did manage to get out to check the cameras. Found a lot of scrapes and this guy on my camera. First time Ive seen him since August. [video=youtube;fqeTUN8G2Po]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqeTUN8G2Po&feature=youtu.be

Just an update here. Have only been out once the first few weeks of the season. Been monitoring a lot of trail cams more that anything. Trying to locate our bucks from this summer. Got a few pics but almost everything has been at night. Did find a few nice rubs around one of my stands. Been waiting for a weather change before I head out again. Looks like we might get that this weekend with highs dropping down into the 40s by friday. Good luck everyone!!

So this year I decided to switch to the Rage 2-blade broadheads. I seem to be having a problem with keeping them closed. Anyone else have experiences with this. They dont seem to "click" close and I am apprehensive about shooting them for fear they will open during flight. Also the o-rings keep breaking. Idk if that has anything to do with it or not. Like I said, this is my first year using them. Thoughts?

Wow Fly, that is tough. Wisconsin is slowly making changes for the better as far as turkey regulations. Used to be we had to stop hunting at 5pm, then they changed it to sunset. This year they also changed it from 5 day hunting periods, to 7. Hope you find the time, good luck to ya! -
You need the group ID# to get in, not the name

Whats up all...When does everyones seasons start? April 25th here. Only team name idea I have now is Bearded Assassins -
I always use them. Every bird I have taken or have help take I have used the shaker gobbler. Not a fan of the sound but it works I guess. Im excited for that flextone thunder gobbler call. Watched the video from the shot show and it sounds great!

I know for me personally, when I first joined here, I was a freshman in college, so I had a lot of down time...both in and out of class;)...so I would come on here a lot. It was also a time, were i was first getting serious about hunting so I wanted to learn everything I could. Now, I have a full time job and posting on forums and such just isn't on the top of my list anymore. I drop in here at least once a week to see whats going on and I still participate in the contests but Im just not as into it as I used to be:(

Congrats Hoosier, great deer.Rifle season came and went without many deer sightings. We were skunked for the 3rd year in a row. Havent been out late season yet. Waiting for some snow and/or cold weather. On the plus side, the buck I shot that we couldnt find, is alive!! He showed up on camera a few times last week.
-
Agreed. I have seen bucks moving or bucks with does every night on my way home this week. Hopefully with that weather moving in tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow morning will be great
-
I noticed the same thing. Saw quite a few bucks out and about

From what I read, peak breeding is suppose to occur sometime within the next 7-10 days. Problem is, weather has been relatively mild. The only time I noticed an increase in activity was last week after that snow storm. It seemed like bucks were on their feet a bit this weekend but I have not seen any chasing. With the warmer temps and the moon, Im guessing there has been a lot of night time activity

Hey guys, shot a huge buck this morning. We searched most of the day and could not find him. Heres the story. http://www.realtree.com/forums/bowhunting/107078-just-sick.html#post1285472

11 years Ive been hunting and have never experienced something like today. I was sitting for the first time in a stand I hung about a month ago. About 8:15 I noticed a deer coming towards me. I grabbed my bow and thats when I noticed his horns. By far the biggest deer I have ever seen on stand. The direction he was coming, I knew I would only have one window to shoot. As he walked past I stopped him at 32 yards and let the arrow fly. Well, I lost track of the arrow but from the way he reacted, it looked like a good hit. When the arrow hit, he dropped, nearly to the ground and turned and ran off. I waited about 20 minutes before getting down. Now heres where it gets interesting . I looked at my arrow, not a drop of blood, hair, no trace of deer anywhere on it and it didnt smell gut shot. However, there was a lot of blood on the ground right at the impact spot. There was even little chunks of meat or organ or whatever in the blood pools. Not knowing where I hit, I left and came back with my dad and brother two hours later. We followed the trail for at least 3/4 of a mile before we lost blood. To make things worse, the little snow we had was melting, so what blood we had was gone as well. It wasnt a steady blood trail the whole way. Whenever we would find good blood, we would follow it for a while then it would thin out, then it would get good, then thin out again. Eventually we just lost it. He never bedded down, we never saw him and as far as we can tell he only stopped once. After looking most of the day, we called it quits. The more I replay it, the more I think my shot must have been high, but with the amount of blood at the start, I figured we'd find him. It sickens me to think that 1). I couldnt make a 30 yard shot and 2). THis is the biggest buck I have ever seen and I wounded him. What do you guys think? No blood on the arrow, lots of blood on the ground at the impact spot, he never bedded down. Have your ever encountered this or heard of it? Is this buck mortally wounded it could he make it? Heres a video of the buck I think it was working a scrape about 70 yards from the stand I was sitting in [video=facebook;2417288924021]http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=2417288924021

Got this guy on camera saturday night. Nothing was moving at all this weekend. Gonna be heading out the next 3 days before work. Suppose to get some accumulating snow tonight so maybe they will be on their feet during the day. [video=facebook;2417288924021]http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=2417288924021
