Normally I tend to pack it in after gun season. Three months of not shooting anything and barely seeing anything worth shooting kinda gets old after a while. I probably will go out this year though, we got some beans that the deer are hitting hard so Ill try to get a doe for some meat and maybe with a little luck a nice buck will step out.

Gun season ended with a few sightings but no deer down. Never really say much rut activity up here either. Still have late bow season to try and get a doe...maybe a buck but im not holding my breath

I hear ya...saw and heard nothing this morning...rattled, grunted, snort/wheezed, doe bleated...nothing. Bunch of big bucks on the cameras but none with does, all out feeding by themselves. Sucks too cause I was hoping this was the week

My dad and brother have been seeing bucks everywhere except in the stand the last few days...including one laying in the backyard this morning. Ill be heading home wednesday to get a day of bowhunting in before rifle season starts next weekend. This week should be good!!

Wolfs need to be managed just like any other animal. There is really no reason for large wolf populations nowadays. Wolfs are predators and kept the elk, deer, etc population in check for thousands of years. Now with as many hunters as we have now, the need for natural predators is not as great. Especially out west were in many states you may have to wait years to draw a tag...only to find out that the area you are hunting has been overrun with wolves. Like it or not, man is the top predator now and we spend a lot of money to be able to hunt big game. More wolves=less hunters spending money on hunting. Wolves have their place in nature...but not nearly like they use too.
