  1. Mohuntress I believe thats opening day. Thanks everyone. I only had the camera out a little over a week just to get a look at what we may have. Going to get me some feeders out pretty soon so I can leave my cameras out a little longer.
  2. I hope to get at least one good one with my bow this season. This property looks very promising. Thanks Mo Huntress
  3. Here is some more day shots of the 12 point
  4. They're def. from georgia. Laurens county. I took pictures with my cell phone off my wifes laptop while viewing. Thats why you can see a reflection on the picture. I uploaded from my cell. We have several more out there that are good bucks. Alot of day shots. I know that will probably change in a couple months.
  5. Got these 2 good ones on some new property we picked up
  6. Those things are awesome! I've used them for the last few years. I've had deer right under my short buddystands without any problems with them smelling me or the thermocell.
  7. I also live in Ga. (Dodge County) & I'm really getting pumped for this weekend. I wish the cooler weather we were having last week would've carried over to this week. Its been very humid....not that it would keep me from hunting.
  8. I really don't look forward to the "throw-up" part or the pee-pee, but he's already tried to get me.
  9. I've already told her that in 6 months the camo and deer mounts go to his room...lol, she said maybe!
  10. Thanks! I told the wife that I need to go ahead and get him a BB gun but she's not having that.LOL I'm going to start him early though so he'll be ready to join his dad in the woods.
  11. My son (Hunter Bryce Snelgrove) was born Tuesday Feb.24 2009! I'm 1 happy dad. Man I've never been more happier. I've always had respect for my wife but after seeing what she had to go through and watching her during the early motherhood this past week has really made me love her more...not saying I didn't before.
  12. Its the next best show since Everybody Loves Raymond went off the air to me. Me and my wife both love Two & half men

    Wii Fit

I've heard of it from my wife. She doesn't like game systems, but said she'd consider letting me buy the Wii for the Wii Fit. I'll have to pick up a hunting game or 2.LOL I've heard from other friends that have the Wii Fit that it will wear you out.

    Who's dieting?

I wish all that are dieting the best...its very hard because its just like stopping any habit. I don't get on here very much because of time at work & home, but I wanted to take time to respond to this post. I've been dieting for the past 6 1/2 months, but I'm taking Adepex (not sure if its spelled right). I was 282 1/2 lbs & only 5ft 9in. tall. I was a biggen. I found out that I was going to be a dad and had to do something. I wanted to make sure I'm around for my son. I'm down to 200lbs starting 2009 (82 1/2lbs)!
  15. Sorry for you loss.Prayers sent.
  16. Thanks...I'm just hoping to fill that last buck tag. I still got awhile of the season left. Its been an awesome season so far.
  17. Here's pic of my 8 point. Story: Well there isn't much to this 1. Daybreak came and I'm hunting a long road cut through our pines. He came out at about 200 yards running 6 doe straight to me. The doe stopped directly under my stand looking back at him and he came straight to me. I laid him down at 30yards with my Rem.30-6 (wish I'd stuck with my bow that day). I hope to have pictures and the stories to my brother's (who has 2 monsters 11 point & huge 8 this year) & my dad's 8 point up in the next 1 or so.
  18. Also...I really haven't had that much luck with grunt calls but I did try it. Should I maybe try "The Can"? I've really never had any luck with calls, but I'm willing to try anything. This land may be different than land I've hunting in the past since the population of bucks is so high.
  19. I'll have to ask around...we only shoot the box target, but I'll def. have to ask around.
  20. Sounds like a good idea but I don't have 1 & I believe the wife would litterially kill me if I spend anymore money on deer hunting. I really went all out this year on my hunting equipment including buying a new bow.haha
  21. Well to start I got lucky this year and picked up 200 acres that has been managed for the last 5-6 years and we see bucks everytime we go. We're very picky on the bucks we take. The bucks are really running doe right now.We try and take older deer or deer in their prime. We've already got 4 bucks at the Taxi. as we speak between me, my dad, & Brother (who has finished his season for bucks with 11 & a 8 point)....my brother always gets the big ones! Well this isn't the problem at all...we love this, but I'm trying to get my second. The problem: The last 2 evenings I've had a very large buck chasing 1particular doe. He looks to be a really big 10 point. The only shot I had I didn't take because I wanted to make sure it was a mature deer. When I realized he was...it was too late. Well he ran the doe up and down a hill next to me at 70yards for a solid hour yesterday and 30 min. the day before. Where I hunt is pretty thick in the area he's running. Its probably 5-10 year old pines (not sure about the age but they're about 35ft-40ft pines) and the undergrowth is thick in spots. I've used a grunt call but the most thats done is get him to rubbing trees in the thicket (which is awesome). He never commits enough to come out of the thicket. I just can get him in the scope & I'm not going to take a crazy shot. For now he's in that area but I'm sure they'll move on soon. What can I try if he's not moved on by this evening and the weekend? I could use some help please. Sorry for rambling on & on, but I really love my hunting.
  22. I'd post my pic. of my dad but really unsure how, but I'm also fortunate to still get to hunt with my dad. He took a big 8 this year. He's had me and my brothers in the woods as long as I can remember. I'm 29 and married but I still go hunting with him every chance I get...which is alot because I only live 5 minutes away. I'm very lucky for that. Its not hunting without my dad...or my brothers. It wouldn't be hunting without them. I'm not sure I'd keep doing it without either of them. I'll never forget the 1st deer hunt in the stand by myself...my dad 200 yards away. He always would walk me to my stand and make sure I got in safely. Then he'd shine his light on his hands and face and say really quietly..."kill a biggen" & I love you. My dad has never been shy about telling us he loved us. Every chance I get...I always return it too. Typing this really gets me sick & choked up to know I too will someday have to give my dad up to god. I can honestly say my dad was wonderful to me and my brothers. Growing up he'd spend as much time with us as he could. I hope when my son (who is to be born in March) gets to the age to go hunting my dad is walking right along with us. If god decides before then I'll be sure to pass along everything about my dad through me.
