  1. I guess the chocolate horns are from rubbing pine.? I'm not really sure but where I hunt...thats what they seem to rub. What is really awesome about this buck is that we got a pic of him 1 night in velvet and the very next night he'd cleaned his antlers. It was pretty amazing because I thought it took bucks a little longer than 24 hours. Oh yeah, we've got at least 1 buck bigger than this buck on our property...if he made it through the winter and this hot summer we're having.
  2. Well I finally got the pic. up. Sorry I took so long. Like I said before, he's an 11 point with the kickers.
  3. I'll try and get them from my dad this weekend when I go to his house. I'll take some pics. of the mount also. He's a real beautiful deer.
  4. I tried uploading the after the kill pics of my dads buck, but couldn't get them loaded. I'll try later. The pics really don't do this buck justice. He grew alot after these pics. We called him "Hauss". These pics are in early August. This buck weighed 230lbs. My dad shot this buck at 10 yards. He hunted him all through bow season and never saw him.
  5. hopefully it went through
  6. Thanks...I'm going again this weekend to shoot them again. Maybe I'll make a good choice.
  7. I went to bass proshop this past weekend and shot 2 different bows that I really liked. The Diamond Justice and I think The Diamond Rock. Both were really good shooting bows. Anyone have 1 of these. Both were really sweet shooting bows & were really quite.
  8. can't figure it out...can anyone help me?
  9. sorry trying to figure out how to post pics. hopefully have it up soon
  10. Not sure if its ok to post this pic here...but here is my dads deer. Story: We had trail pics. of this deer starting back in early August 07. Never saw this deer all through bow season & completely stopped getting pics of him until the day my dad got him during rifle season. Shot the deer 10 yards with his 270 coming up the trail my dad walked in on. He's a 9 point with 2 stickers coming out the browtines (11point).
  11. I'll be proud if its a girl or boy. I can't wait to teach my child all about the outdoors as my dad did for me.
  12. Don't get to post much but I do enjoy reading posts from you guys. I just wanted to post and say that I'm going to be a dad. We've known for almost 8 weeks and are supposed to go tomorrow to hear the heartbeat. Hopefully everything has gone good in these early weeks, because I know thats the most critical stage. I really want a son, but as long as my kid is healthy, it really doesn't matter. I know I'll be a good dad like mine was for me. I'm so excited just to hear the heartbeat...I can't imagine what I'll fell like when he/she is brought into this world. My wife says I'll probably pass out! She's probably right. Thanks for reading...just wanted to share some of my joy.
  13. Yeah, David acted like a great guy. Looks like he's got a great family also. The fishing was great...but didn't catch the bigger sharks that we caught a couple weeks ago. I had a 4-5 footer run me and my dad out of the water though. That was pretty scary. He was in ankle height water running a school of bait fish right between us and didn't care we were there. Needless to say we were walking on water trying to get outta there! Couple weeks back me and my youngest brother caught around 60 of 70 in a 2 day period. About 90% were 12inches long, but we did catch about 4 or 5 sharks that pushed 3ft.

    Guess who met?

I don't get to add a post much here but....I thought this was pretty cool. My wife & I, along with with my dad and step mom, went to St. Simons Island, Ga. this weekend and were staying right on the beach. Well yesterday after coming in from doing some surf fishing we went to the pool. Well I noticed this guy in the center of the pool looked familiar. It was David Blanton. Well I kept telling my dad it was David...of course he didn't think it was him. Well I didn't want to bother him and his family on their vacation. But after swimming I did happen to pass by him and his wife. I just asked are you "David Blanton" & he responded yes and shook my hand. I happened to be carrying my surf rod and he was asking me how the fishing went. He's a really nice fellow. Well I just thought it was pretty cool to meet someone like that & thought I'd share my experience.

    Hunting lodge

New here...well first time adding a post. First off just want to say this is a great site and reading alot of posts in the past has helped me alot. I've got a question & hope its ok to ask this in the lounge. I've been looking for a good place to do a deer hunt for a good price somewhere here in Ga. or Alabama. Me and some of the family are really looking hard for a good place, but can't seem to find something that we think would be a good place to hunt. I really want to be able to enjoy the hunt and see lots of deer if possible. I've read reviews on some of these hunting plantations and they give me a scare. I don't want to hunt highfenced areas. Can someone give me a good place to look or have actually been somewhere down south that had a good experience? Thanks ahead
