  1. I decided to try to kill a doe this morning, since I already got my buck. Before it was light I heard stuff walking around me but couldn't tell what it was. Once it got light I spotted 3 does but they never came in range. Then around 9:30 I spot what I think is a coyote. I get my rabbit distress call out and get my bow and camera ready. I zoom in and its a bobcat! I get some good footage as its trotting by and once I don't see it I start blowing on the call and it comes back within 40 yds. Here's a still from the video. This is the first time I have ever seen one. It didn't look much smaller than the average yote.
  2. Yep, I think I made a big mistake because now its gonna cost us money and deer hunting time!
  3. Roadtrips Bone Collector Spirit of the Wild Gun it
  4. Yesterday morning me and my Dad met up with a couple guys for a duck hunt. It was pretty rough getting back there and when we did the pit we were hunting had drained to mostly mud and just a little water. This made it rough getting the birds but we got all of them. I ended up shooting a couple Gadwall drakes and a spoonbill. My first ducks ever and it was a blast!
  5. I had one of the most fun times in the woods yesterday morning and didn't even get to pull the trigger. I got some crazy ruttin activity on video, check it out! You can hear one of them grunt while they're running in.
  6. Got home this evening from school and my Grandpa came down to tell me there was a big buck behind his house this morning so that's where I headed. He said the buck and his racehorse were having a stare off. :DWe have a stand setup back there but its set up for more of a bow shot. So I decided to stand against a fallen tree. He said it was chasing a doe so I soaked the tree in front of me with some Pinnacle Outdoors Doe in Estrous. I had been standing for a couple hours and saw some turkeys and a squirrel that I thought was gonna jump on me. At a little after 5:30 I look out in the field and spot a nice buck. Not long after that he's running to the woods with a slug in him! :gun2: After Pa saw it he said it wasn't the one he had seen that morning. This is my second buck and is my biggest so far. Here's some pics!
  7. Got some more pics of the good one! He's still the only nice one we've got. Does hogging the apples.:gun2:
  8. Got some more pics. I put a bucket full of apples in front of the trailcam. A bunch of does and fawns visited it and got the "good one" again, 75 pics of him to be exact. He was the only buck. I hope he stays around so I can get some hard horned pics of him.
  9. He won't be embarrassed once the rut comes around. That spike's gonna be a lethal skull peircing weapon!!:hammer1:
  10. Checked the trail camera a little bit ago, kinda dissapointed seeing I only had 60 some pics but wasn't once I saw what I got! I 'm pretty sure this is the same buck I got last fall, but not 100% sure. Last Fall, split right brow tine and maybe the start of a kicker on his right G2: Now, he has the same split brow tine and a kicker on his right G2, if this is the same buck, he sure had a great year of growing, much more mass and spread. A dandy for sure! Anyone got any suggestions on a name for him? Same little 8 I got last month with a new friend: Pay no attention to the date on the new pics, I don't seem to know the numbers of the months.
  11. I have the same problem when I use corn. Now I just use salt licks and Buck Jam. Seems like I'm just feeding the coons when I put out corn.
  12. For this season I've upgraded from my low poundage slow shooting bow to a higher poundage fast shooting bow. What do you know, getting that time of year to get her dialed in and the arrows blow right through my old target. So now I'm in the market for a new one. What's the best block style target for the money? I don't mind spending the extra $$$ as long as it's worth it.
  13. Thanks for the comments guys. There were quite a few reports of ehd a few years ago here in So. Indiana but I haven't heard anything since. Hope he makes it.
  14. Got my first buck pics of the summer. Just a couple little guys, I moved the camera farther down the woods so I'll hopefully have some more pics to post soon. Good one in a year or two. Not sure what is up with this one. ??? Every year these deer are fat and have plenty to eat around here, but this guy is skinny!
  15. Had the trailcamera out the first time this summer. Got a bunch of does and fawns and a pair of twins. No bucks yet but they will come, hopefully. ;D
  16. He's a goodun!! He isn't even done growing yet. :jaw:
  17. Your gonna have some big ones to chase this fall. Good luck!
