  1. If my memory serves me correctly the 535 has the same barrel and chokes as the 500. The only major difference between the two is that the 535 is able to chamber 3-1/2" shells while the 500 chambers 3". Look for some chokes for the 500 and they should fit just fine into your gun.
  2. Mine cut off too. Hopefully they can catch a break seeing as they are long overdue and seal the deal.
  3. I got things worked out with Tim and got a few texts from him. He stated that they are still moving around and glassing well off the roads. They are going to be trying for whitetails tonight (if I understand the text correctly).
  4. I have an XD 40 that I picked up earlier this year. I have put close to a thousand rounds through it since I got it and have not had any issues with it. My only complaint is that my hands are a little small and the mag eject button is a little hard to reach so I have to move my hand around to get to it. Even with that I wouldn't trade it for anything.
  5. Glad you guys are getting the messages. Something must be screwed between my phone and Tim's. I have yet to get a text from him. :bummed:
  6. I picked one up the begining of the year and love it. Make sure you get high enough scope mounts if you put one on to make sure that the breach cover is able to fully swing open. I found mine likes 250 grain Hornaday sabots with 100 grains of 777. I am getting sub 2" groups at 100 yards. Good luck with it.
  7. They made it! Just got off the phone with Tim. They made it to Billings, MT with no problems or delays. All of their gear and guns arrived without problems as well. Weather is in the high 50's and some clouds in the sky. They were getting the truck loaded up and heading out to do some scouting tonight before they start hunting tomorrow.

    GAs

Up $.25 in the last few days. Here goes the economy again. :hammer1:
  9. That is the truth! With the amount of people that take to the woods on the first two days of rifle season, scents are going to do you little good unless you are on private land that has few people hunting it. Too many PA hunters can't sit still and tromp through the woods making everything into an uproar.
  10. Congrats on the deer guys. Still have not been able to get out due to work and other things going on. Planning on taking a few days off the first week of November to try and seal the deal. Talked with my sister's boyfriend who was out scouting on our property the other night and he said he saw a nice 8 point near one of our stands. I'm hoping that the rut will be in full swing and he's around.
  11. I spent about $1800 on my fiance's engagemen ring and $800 on her wedding band, and that was on sale. Definetly shop around and find out what kind of offers jewlers have. I know that there are lots of deals to be had now with the holidays coming up. Like most have said the size of the ring and what it costs do not matter much. It's how it is presented and what it means to you and her. Good luck in your search.
  12. The 30-30 is a great youth cartridge. I grew up using my Dad's and started shooting it when I was about 8. Between my brother and sister and myself I would say we have taken around a dozen deer with it some well out past 100 yards. They are great woods guns due to how compact they are as well as the balistics that they have. Ditch the 243 and get a dirty thirty, you won't regret it.
  13. :toot:Pick me, Pick me:toot: Pm on the way
  14. Checked my WGI cam over the weekend. It's been out for over a month now on a set of batteries and is still going strong.
  15. Congrats on the doe Fly! The weatherman proved to be wrong again for opening day. As the sun rose into the sky there was not a cloud in sight (they were calling for morning showers). Although the day was beatiful I got skunked. I didn't see a single deer all day and spent the better part of it in the stand. I got a bunch more pics of deer near my stand in daylight. Just hoping that I can time it right and have them come by when I'm there.
  16. Darn.....I was wondering how long I could get people goin. :bat:
  17. Found this link on AT this morning with a pic and some specs of a possible new Hoyt bow coming out in a few weeks. Real or fake? http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1033183

    near anybody??

I live about 45 minutes from Lancaster, near Harrisburg. You'll probly go right by my house on the PA Turnpike. PA's archery season opens tomorrow so I'm sure everyone will be a little occupied. :robot:

    Thanks!

Thanks for the adventure. It was great to sit and check it out each day.
  20. Buckslayer, I live in Mechanicsburg and work for a consulting engineering firm designing buildings. My parents live in Towanda (Bradford County) and despite the fact that it is three hours away I'll probly do most of my hunting there. As for weather it's saying 40% chance of showers, mostley cloudy, with a slight south wind. The wind will be perfect for the stand that I'm planning on sitting. Good luck to everyone this weekend!
  21. I have a Blackberry Curve with Nextel (Sprint) service and love it. Unlike Verizon and AT&T I'm only paying about $67 a month for service while I have some friends paying near $100 for theirs. :hammer1:
  22. Looks like the weatherman is calling for showers on the opening day here in PA. Hoping that he is wrong like he is when he predicts snow storms. Taking half a day Friday to head home to my parents. Will keep everyone updated. Good luck to everyone this weekend.
  23. So far it has been out for about 4 weeks on a set of Duracell C batteries. The battery indicator showed that they still had about 3/4 life left. That is with around 230 pictures taken so far. For the price I do not think that you are going to find a better IR camera out there. The second picture that I got with it:
