  1. I prefer to get into a draw so i can get out of the wind. But if i have good activity in the windy area i just pull up the neck gaitor, pull down the beanie and tuff it out.
  2. Thanks for sharing. East Central Illinois is the area that i hunt also.
  3. "That it is Edward, that it is"
  4. Go to the Illinois DNR website and check the non-resident archery tag date, it is usually in early june. On the day they go on sale you can purchase your tag directly online, there is no drawing. The tag presently cost $400 and you also need to purchase a hunting license and a habitat stamp. The total will run you around $450. I have hunted Champaign and Vermillion counties for the last 21 years. I always hunt for 6 days and usually start around the 7th of November. I hope this helps.
  5. Dennis Miller ends every one of his rants with "Of course, that's just my opinion, i could be wrong". And he could be wrong. And so could any of us. So if you post "IMO" all you are doing is qualifying the that you could be wrong. No big deal.
  6. I was watching some hunting videos this morning and i am amazed that there are "professional" hunters being filmed in their tree stands and they are not wearing a safety harness or they are wearing one and they have the tether connected below their waist! I understand that it is their choice, just like wearing a seat belt but it just amazes me. Next time you watch a hunting show or video check it out.
  7. They build good stands, however i looked it up and it appears to have a pin recall. Check it out... http://tmastands.com/recalls.php
  8. Take a look at this... http://www.sportsmenforobama.org/ It's anti-Obama, not pro.
  9. I just saw the episode of "Gettin' Close" with Tiffany finding the possum in the cat food container. That was pretty funny stuff! She was a lot braver than my wife ever would have been!
  10. Yep, dont feel bad I think we all have done something like that. Not me of course.
  11. Good job. Be careful, all your friends and relatives will have you doing theirs for them.
  12. What a great gesture. I hope you have a great trip. By the way, be careful, i hear some of those Wisconsin bucks get very big!
  13. yep, I have seen it many times for many years.
  14. If this statement is true then age is not the issue. And i completely agree with you.
  15. Here is the video link to David Blanton's tip. Just scroll down to "Chilled? Stay warm" http://www.realtree.com/blanton/2007_10_01_archive.html
  16. This is my nieces sons first buck. He is 7 years old and was sitting with his father when he shot it. It was a 50 yard shot and he dropped in his tracks. Ya think he looks proud?
