  1. Today was opening day for us here in ky. I seen 4 longbeards, a hen and one I couldn't tell what it was. I didn't get a shot but my dad managed to get a good one that was about 18lbs with 1" spurs and about a 4" beard.
  2. I have been shooting my sbxt since they came out, put new string and cable on it last year with all new dampeners. It is still like brand new but i am thinking of making a major change this year. Last year is the 1st year since i was a kid i never bowhunted, i think a change to rekindle the fire is in need. I am trying to sell my sbxt to fund a new bow purchase, im gonna go traditional this year. I am going to get a black widow psr if i can sell my bow, something i have been pondering on for a few years now. I think the time is now if i can sell my mathews, just cant bring myself to drop 1000$ on a recurve unless i have a little differance to put down.
  3. Huntingman checking in here, i think our season starts 11th or 1wth of april. I have taken two week of vacation so i can chase thunder chickens. Lets get this started in a big way guys, good luck and be safe out there.
  4. I was in need of a new carry gun and had been wanting a 1911 for a long time. I had read a lot of reviews and finally decided on a sig sauer. I was going to get a kimber but the reviews were less than favorable on lots of different forums. This pistol is almost to nice to carry, I may have to go back and get a p250 comapct for a carry gun. Anyone have any experience with the sig 1911 and what do you think of them? Heres a pic of my new baby.
  5. I got back out today, seen 2 different bucks and one of them was chasing does all over the place. I managed to get my dad on one of them this afternoon, a six pointer. My cousin had passed on it earlier in the day , me and dad was sitting in the bkind and it came in. He knows I dont want to shoot any small bucks and he said he wasnt going to shoot either but I knew he wanted it so I told him to go ahead and shoot if he wanted to, I hadnt gotten the words out of my mouth and I heard boom! I dont mind him shooting the small ones because it is hard for him to get out and hunt since he lost both of his legs. We have had a good season so far, we have put 5 deer in the freezer in the last 3 or 4 weeks. I got one more to go and its got to be a doe with the bow, im gonna need some good luck on my side.
  6. I kept an eye on it during late summer, I think its pretty neet idea.
  7. I hunted opening day of rifle season and seen 2 does and one buck that was broken off on one side. I went saturday morning and was there about 1 hour and managed to take this decent 10 point. I wasnt going to shoot him at first, I got my phone out and tried to get some pi s of him as he closed the distance. Well after watching him for a bit, he tuned to leave and I seen he was as wide as his ears. I quickly changed my mind and grabbed the rifle,he had done opened the distance back up to around 70 yards or so. I found a gap in between the trees and waited for him to get in it, when he stepped in it I let the old 270 bark. He made a mad dash and ran about 40 yards before he piled up in a hefty crash, then all was quiet. I was sitting beside the same tree I killed my big 9 from last year and this deer fell only about 40 yards from where last years fell. Hes not my biggest but I had fun and he got me excited.
  8. I shot a decent little 10 point this morning, ill get him up as soon as I get cleaned up and rest some.
  9. I shot the scirroco out of my 300rum when I hunted with it. Im just gonna say that you better hit him where theres not much of anything to eat because tbey make one heck of a hole and knock them down. I just got another um and decided to go with barns tsx this time around, the scirocos do a fine job.
  10. Wassup guys, im finaly going to be getting back out this weekend. Tomorrow is opening day of rifle season here in ky and I should be off and able to hunt the whole thing. Just wanted to check in and see what was going on, good luck and shoot streight.
  11. I feel like an idiot, I got a button buck this morning and forgot to get any pictures because I was in such a hurry about having to get home and go to work tonight. Went yesterday and seen 2 but no shot, my dad got a big doe yesterday and then I got the little guy this morning at 8am, not a bad two muzzle loader days. Sorry bout the pics guys, ill make up for it in a couple weeks.

I was going to take my son for the youth hunt this weekend but he has been bitten by a brown recluse spider and isnt feeling so well. Next weekend it the early bkackpowder season and im definetly going to hunt then. Go team!
  13. What kind of powder do you guys like to shoot in you inline smoke poles? I picked me up a good inline back a few months ago and was wondering if I shoukd go with loose powder or the pellets? I have been shooting the old cap and ball up untill last year when I borrowed an inline to hunt with. I would still be useing it if the nipple hadnt have blown out of the thing. I found a good deal on a traditions inline so I bought it, now wondering what type of powder to use, bullet recomendations are welcome to.
