  1. broadheads for low poundage Well my son shot alpine micro 38 pounds with a 2 blade mangus broad head at 20 yards went in behind shoulder out all the way to feather thru far shoulder at 20 yards.Wasp makes the sharp shooter 1 inch cut on contact two blade or 4 blade with bleeders blade in.The land shark is another cut on contact head with sweeping blades should work well with low poundage. The B52 montec two blade ( 50 pounds kills hogs )with this head. The G5 85 grain might work well also.
  2. what knew bow you gonna buy this year Pearson is coming out with a binary cam this year smooth quite and fast.Expect new things fro a great company
  3. I have been looking at a couple different broad heads to shoot this year.It is between slick trick 100's, rage 2 blade 100's and the gators 100's.I have shot the slick tricks shot great,I seen some nice holes for a fixed blade head also.I have never shot a deer with one.The gators by rocky mountain I heard company was bought out so down the road blades or replacement heads may be an issue.I can get the gators for 10 bucks a pack right now with a 2 blade 2inch cut.I've never really heard that much about the gators.I have seen the rages hole impressive to say the least. How well would they stand up to shoulder shots or rib bones.I have read some not so good stuff about the 3 blade version.I haven't heard any thing bad about the 2 blades. In your words good or bad could I get some info on these heads before I spend the money on them Please.
  4. G5 broadheads I have killed several deer withG5 100 turned my friends on to them also deer killen head good blood trails.
  5. I have been thinking of trying these heads. There a 2 blade 2inch cut like rage.Does anybody have experience with these heads good or bad.How well did they work
  6. I have a neighbor that owns 120 acres of prime prime hunting land white oaks, swamps, tall grass inside woods for bedding, regrowth in places where adult trees where harvested, all surrounded by soybeans and small corn field. The owner doesn't hunt. She doesn't allow hunting especially bow hunters. They have found to many bucks dead from arrows on there land. When I talked to her about it I showed her my arrows.I have a wrap with my name on them, each arrow is numbered and crested, topped off with quick spin vanes.I made sure to let her know that I do my very best to recover every deer know matter how light it is hit.I think the part that sealed the deal was when I told her if she found more than one deer with one of my arrows in it booted me off.I have stands alone edges on funnels leading to bedding and food about 30 yards in.I have several stands set for different winds along with at least two different ways to enter them. I have been scouting at distances.I have saw two eight points 19 to 22 inches wide and a buck that has 6 points to a side at least 6 inches long and about 21inches wide.Man bow season can't come fast enough.I have been watching huge bucks for years use this as a safety zone during hunting seasons.Im not going to over hunt it either.I have several places to hunt.
  7. well I just sold my 03 razor tech. The razor tech is a pretty quite bow already.A sims Teflon cable slide will help with cable noise and gain you a couple feet per second. The sims Cable rod dampener that slides on the cable rod will help also. The after market STS would help also.I loved my Razor tech wish I hadn't sold it to get new Pearson Z32.I personally wouldn't use the leeches on cables just because it might interfere with cable movement. The Razor tech is a very nice quite smooth and fast bow wrapped up into a nice package.
  8. I have always used a 12ga for deer.I bought my son a 20 ga youth model that he has been using on deer.He shoots the copper solid slugs out of it.H e probably has killed 10 deer with it and only one has moved from where he hit it.It seems that with the same hit shooting the 12ga with winchester plat. slugs my deer run alittle ways.Could it just be the design of the slug transferring more energy into the animal.Im trying the Barnes slugs this year.
  9. reflex charger bows Im not try to steal your post but I recently bought a Pearson Z32 nice bow. it is very quite single cam and price was right. It is worth a look if not set on Hoyt.
  10. reflex rampage bows there a nice bow my friend have a 29inch draw with loop on it,peep and leeches on it.shoots 275fps at 70lbs.It is my buddies bow.Its quite small hand vibration shoots very well. His bow is the charger not the rampage sorry my mistake in tittle
  11. I use the Remington sluggers in my smooth barrel with rifle sights.I used the winchester platinum 1700fps bullet in my rifled barreled gun.I tried the new Barnes/federal slug with the plastic tip. It's 2000fps and shoots really nice out to 200 yards.I think I will be shooting these from now on instead of the platinum slugs.
  12. I have used just about every slug on the market over the years.Last year I shot the 3/4 oz. Barnes bullets with the plastic tip in the federal case. These slugs sure fly flat for a slug and hit like a ton of bricks.Just wondered if anybody else has tried them.

  14. light field bullets well there called the alpha 300. there and olive style bullet with a hollow point.I shoot them yesterday started out with 90 grains of 777. I tried different loads and primers, the best load was 110 grains 777 300 grain light field bullet and 777 clean burn primer.2 inch groups at 175 yards from a rest. I tried several different powders along with about 5 different kinds of primers. We recovered several bullets if they open up like that on deer I don't see alot of tracking in my future.
  15. light field bullets thanks for the welcome.I looking for a bullet that will retain energy at longer ranges.
  16. just wondered how many people tried or use the light field bullets in a 50 cal pursuit.I like the ballistic coe. the bullet has over the pistol style bullets. How well do the work on deer.
