  1. Yep, it's sweet taters alright.
  2. Got a few small bucks & these guys. Got several pics of both of these guys though.
  3. I like the squiggles, gives him character.
  4. I would imagine you've got more deer than just that group & the bear may have them spooked a little but they should be back. I have bear pics & deer pics within 10 minutes of each other and even had a buck & bear in a few pics together. Just be patient & don't upset that sow.
  5. My first instinct was 3.5 & 120ish but I'm far from being an expert.
  6. Went & picked up my mount from last year. I'm very happy!
  7. Same here Ben. I've only been hunting once & saw 2 does all day. Got a couple of small bucks on cam I'd shoot including some daytime pics. I'll be hunting 3-4 days in the next week hopefully though!
  8. It's crazy but I'd rather see the Christmas stuff than the Halloween crap though.
  9. Welcome back Ross, long time no talk.
  10. Alright folks, let's wake up in here! Season starts for me tomorrow!
  11. That's like one of the "blocks" we lease is nothing but a flat cutdown with nothing for the deer to eat or lay in.

    News!

Congrats! Not quite sure where your's is gonna come out though. Haha, just messing around.
  13. Yea, I hear ya on the rear view. I wish I had more pics of him but maybe we'll get more since it was only Wednesday that he showed up. If he's the buck from last year I think he might be 4 years old. The biggest deer I know of that's come off of our club is about a 130" 10 point so this guy definitely has my hyped up. He was there only about an hour & a half after sunset so maybe he'll show up in daylight during muzzle loader season starting the 29th, which is when our rut is usually in high gear.
  14. I'm in a hunting club with about 7000 acres & 55 or so members that's leased from International Paper. It's their land so we pretty much go with whatever they do. We run dogs too so we've got that if still hunting goes down for a while & we have a lot more land to use. I will tell ya this though: take advantage of those cutdowns from where they cut timber. Also, once things start back growing after that spray you're gonna have some thick, rough territory but it'll be a deer sanctuary. Trust me on that.
  15. Daddy pulled our cards yesterday. We got 1588 pics on one stand & 597 on the other in about a week over sweet potatoes. The 1588 included tons of does, a yearling, & a coyote. Got some bucks in the 597 though, a 3 & 4 point that are pals and a nice "maybe 8pt" that we think might have been there last year. I'd really like some thoughts on that one. 3 pt 4 pt About to spar 8 pt 2011 8 pt 2012 Only have one pic of him this year but several from last year. Give me some input on that if ya can.
  16. My season starts the 29th. I'll be going to check my two trail cams next week. Here's a new blind I'll be hunting out of this year.

    Pigman

"Got the Howa rifle, Leupold scope & the Hornady ammunition. It's about to get tragic." One of my favorite quotes from Pigman, love his show.
  18. I don't hunt much hardwoods myself, mostly pines but the name sounded good to me.

    Nastiness...

That's pretty gross. A couple years ago I mixed me a couple of those sealed packs of hot chocolate & put them in a thermos I'd just washed out. Then I sealed the thermos & left for school. When I went to take a sip I felt something strange. Opened up the thermos & it was full of dead ants. Explain that.
  20. Checking in folks. I'll be hunting from September 29th through January 1st. Congrats on the buck Ben! I'll throw out the name Nimrods. It once meant "mighty hunter" but now "a silly person", two things all of us probably think we are EDIT: I really like Hardwoods Heart Stoppers
  21. Both bucks in the first pic are shooters in my neck of the woods. Good luck with 'em!
  22. That looks like a big bobcat. Good to see the poults & young buck too!
