Good looking Buck! Congrats.

I don't understand why you are being so defensive. All you have to do is explain the photo and clear up the confusion (if there is any) and all will be well among thsoe in the forum

Indiana hunters I hunt in 3 different counties in central IN, I have not seen the numbers of deer this year that I have in the past. I have seen a few promising signs, good bedding areas, a couple small rubs. Good Luck to all.

I think it all depends on two things, where you live and what the Dr. says. Ican think of two options for you. go to a crossbow or I have seen a product I think it's called bow lock. it acts similar to a crossbow locking system for a compound bow. anyone else seen this? -
I have an 18 yr old and an 11 yr old. the 18 yr lod is the girly girl who will not have anything to do with it. I tried getting her to go for years with no luck. the 11 yr old is starting to show promise. I took her out last year in early archery without my bow, we sat in a 15 ft buddy stand (that I bought 2 yr earlier for this moment). we watched the deer all morning. she was great. She was so excited when a small six point, I had seen several times before, crossed the creek and meandered around directly under our stand. Now this year, she is full of questions. When does the season start?, am I ging to take her again?, the only question that threw up a red flag was --- are you going to take your bow or gun? she is not real thrilled about the weapons. I figure if she wants to keep going, I'll take her --on her terms, teaching her about management and warm her up and ease her into the kill. it seems to be working out.My best advise is to encourage her and meet her on her terms and ease her into it.

both, i have permanent stands I leave year rond in prime locations. I have hanging stands that I put up after scouting and photo studies, and I keep a climber in the truck for time I notice a chang in patterns. once I hang a stand, I will not go in during the active part of the season to move it.

Hello Rodney, Thanks for all you do. All of us little hunters really enjoy watching the big boys hunt, and it's all because of your efforts that we can enjoy it. Thanks a ton.

Went out this weekend to check the trail cam and han another stand. even though it was about 90 degrees, I was up in the tree hanging on for life hoisting up the stand and realized boy do I need to work on getting back in shape. I may have a tough time dragging a deer out of the woods this year. I've only got 29 days!!!!!!!

30 yds. I have set pins for 40-50 but hunting is always 30 and under. I only shoot 30 and under because I have lighten my arrows to gain more speed,I went with a light weight carbon fiber arrow and 75 gr. broadheads.

I don't go over when it comes to scent control. I do pay attention to certain things like washing my camos with sport wash, hanging them out side on the line to dry and keeping them in a separate duffle bag along with my boots. If anyone else does this, here is a tip you might find helpful if you still have concerns about scent control and dont want to spend $$ on sprays and such. When you are out scouting or hanging stand early, take a small bag with you, gather up scented stuff fron the woods such as walnuts (while they are still green), pine cones, pine branches( not too big, they need to fit in the duffle bag),leaves, acorns, whatever is in your hunting area. even soil. take all that and line the bottom of your clothing bag. It seems to work really well. I use mostly green walnuts and roll them up in my clothes weel before the season. Good luck!!

Central Indiana, Oct 1, will be in a creek bottom 250 yards down the hill from an uncut corn field, a pipline runs from the field through the woods 20 yds from my stand. great spot regaurdless of wind. If it is calm, I will most likely be up top around the field somewhere, they have just been hammering it from all sides and angles.

Have you scouted the trails? check the surrounding area for signs of bucks. look for rubs or scapes. where do the trails come from and lead to? if you aren't seeing any bucks at all, you have to scout to find out why and where they are. If you find signs of bucks in the area, just not passing your stand, try using attractants such as doe in heat on a drag line. Good Luck!!

If it is a real concern, a guy Ikonw who is a scent fanatic, takes a two liter bottle with him and ties it to a tree limb, then gets rid of it after he hunts.

I have been hunting a piece of bottom ground along a creek, small fields and wooded hillsides. always see good deer. my partner and I were only allowed to hunt it during early archery. Now we have gained permission to hunt more of the property and the entire hunting season. so, excited can't hardly wait!!! 35 days and awake up!!!

Here in Indiana, they just opened rifle for this season, And only certain ones. So all the gun shps hiked their prices and made it hard to find one. So I still use my Remington 870 pump and my Browning Gold Fusion Semi auto 12ga.

Last season I took my 10 yr old daughter with me, she is a natural chatter box,she was bored at first then once we saw the first buck, she was great. I did most of the whispering explaining things to her. It was a small six pointer that I had no interest in taking. But her outlook and interest changed 100%. She was excited and was full of questions. It is a great time when I can share my love of hunting with her. Her mom and older sister are the girly girls and don't want anythig to do with it.

Fellow hunters, For christmas, I recieved a "can call" does anyone have one of these? If so, what is the technique? When is the best time to use it? How often? I have never seen one before or heard anything like it. It creates a moaning or crying sound. I have not been able to find any instructions or information on line. Any help would be appreciated. Godd hunting to all!
