  1. Hello all you Indiana bow hunters (even non-hoosiers), well we are a week away from opening day... last year i had a indiana bow forum started on here and it was popular (i believe it was)... This will be a useful tool on posting what deer are doing in your part of the state... I'm hunting grant county... Went out last evening (23 Sept) and was driving around the areas i hunt, i saw 6 does last night around 7 pm. I saw a couple bucks together 2 weeks ago, but haven't seen them since, more than likely splitting up now... for next week i saw the weather to be around 68 degrees for a high on thursday and a low in the middle 40's, so not a bad start to the season. Good luck to all of you and remember to wear your safety harnesses.
  2. i'll reuse the arrow and broadhead, but i will test them before hand and they them become number 6 of the 6 arrows in the quiver
  3. hyperflow how does she like the passion? i was thinking about getting that for my wife
  4. hopefully i get his brother down here in indiana on opening day next weekend!
  5. i haven't been out since shooting my buck but from what everyone is telling me around here that the rut has already started. even though you don't see it going on, it's going on (night time). two guys that i hunt with stated that they have seen bucks breeding does... the day i shot my buck i saw 3 bucks coming up on a doe, the doe just stood there waiting for one of them, so it's started, it just may not be happening during the hunting hours
  6. I have shot two deer this year with the same rage 2 broadhead, first was a doe that ran about 50 yards after i shot and the blood trail was really great, easy tracking job. The second deer was a 7 with some lil kickers and i shot him from 15 yds and he only ran 10 yards and crashed, destroyed diaphram, lungs! Both pics are on the deer hunting forum page under indiana deer hunting report, i have some great doe pics of what the rage 2 broadhead does to deer... i'll never change... all my buddies also shoot rage, so far 1 shot from all and the count is 3 bucks and 2 does with rage 2 broadheads
  7. here is a better pic of the deer i shot yesterday...
  8. Well this guy came in at 910 this morning, i grunted 3 times at him and he walked behind me and stopped at 15 yds. the rage did the job, he ran 10 yds and turned around to see what just happened and dropped right there... he was a 7 with a couple lil kickers... he weighed field dress around 160. on another note also, on the way home to grab a couple things before field dressing him, i saw 3 bucks chasing one doe in the middle of a field around 1000. it's on...
  9. i would say indianapolis would be a good place! i live about an hour north of there. i also want to say thanks to you guys, i noticed most of you have posted info on my thread about indiana deer hunting. i think its over 1700 views, which is really great, at least i think so. i think this was a good idea that has been helpful to all!!! going out in the morning!!
  10. clrs go ahead, i think it's a great idea to help your fellow nc hunters out. this has been a great thread, i figured it would be good to talk to everyone in the same state to find out what everyone is saying. THANKS to all the guys who have made this a great site, over 1000 look ats, its great and it is thanks to all of you. Ok now for deer hunting, i went out yesterday morning, at 855 had a doe come in, at first i did not know what it was so i grunted, she came in at 20 yards and was going down a path to the water, well the excavating company that i hunt on decided to make a quick day work (1 hr). this stopped the doe from goin further, i was going to let her walk anyways but behind her was something, she stood there in front of me for 5 minutes and kept looking back. well she turned around and went into the middle of the woods, well when she did this i noticed a good size rack turning after her. only if they weren't working would i have a chance at this girl goin on and this guy following, only God knows. But i'll try to get back out there tonight.
  11. went out this morning, man was it a nice and cold morning, well i did not see anything until exactly 10 am, had 2 does come 15 yards, but i did not have a bonus tag! oh well, i was hoping for mr. right be behind them somewhere but he wasn't, i could tell the does did not seem pushed. at least i saw something, it's always good to see something. and plus it was kinda cool this morning, the woods was raining leaves, neat sight. going back out friday night and the weekend.
  12. went out last night in the hundred mile per hour windsssss!!! Was able to see three does though. 1 momma doe, a lil one and a med size, at about 6:45. Only 15 yards, but was thinking maybe a daddy was coming along, but nope, anyways, should start heating up!
  13. went out last night (monday 20) and had a small buck chase 3 does under my stand... they are starting to get frisky
  14. shot this doe this morning at 815, she was 3 yards out from my stand, the rage 2 broadhead hit right on the mark, wow, the whole, the entrance was right behind the shoulder and the exit was in the "armpit" right where the shoulder and chest meet... rage broadheads are the broadheads i'll use forever...at least until something a lot better comes out haha.
  15. i shot this doe at three yards this morning from 15 feet in the tree with a rage 2 blade broadhead, she ran 30 yards, don't know how with the huge holes. the exit came in the armpit in the chest since she was right under me, but made a good shot right behind the shoulder blade... taking 2 weeks off hoping for the corn to be taken out and cool weather to get the MR.
  16. well i went out thurs morning, nothing, but droppings all over, corn still is up, tried friday evening, nothing, went to another stand saturday morning and had a doe and 2 yearlings walk by about 10 yards, drew back on the big doe and she got spooked, i think a lil one saw me draw back, they didn't snort, just picked up the pace a lil faster, have military obligations this weekend and next weekend... may go out thursday morning, but going to really concentrate on the prerut, so from the 23 on i'll be in the woods a lot, hopefully the corn will be out!
  17. congrads hoosier hunter! that's the way to start the season off. i went out yesterday morning, no deer, but great sign, fresh droppings all over, believe the deer are leaving the corn field in the evening and coming up into the woods to eat acorns... going out tonight after classes. good luck all
  18. goodluck tomorrow, i can not go out until thursday , dang school, but i'll get to it thursday, goodluck once again and be safe!!!
  19. well the final countdown is here, i would suggest looking at the forcast, it's going to be good!! good luck all of you and hopefully this week we will have a successful week. good luck and be safe
