  1. i don't know how she could even talk after that....WOW!!! That thing had some serious velocity... That was awesome!
  2. Actually, if you know you were in contact with it, all you need to do is use any soap and warm water as soon as possible and wash the living heck out of whatever areas you may have had contact with....The sooner you wash the oils from the ivy off, the better you'll be. the tricky part is knowing exactly what touched what...and what touched what after that.
  3. Awesome buck!!! from that pic it looks like he has 5 legs and a huge tumor... Man i sure hope you can put the smackdown on him this year! Jorden, one of the best spots i have to hunt now is where i went to college....go out and knock on some doors and see if you can't get permission from a local landowner to hunt...it'll save you a lot of time, and it sure makes things interesting with the roomates...i remember leaving to go hunt in the mornings and all the roomates and half the block sitting in the living room still going strong... either way, good luck to all! I just gained access to a real nice chunk of ground here in Marion County IL....Man i can't wait to see what i get on the camera, and what i get to encounter...outstanding!
  4. Don't take offense to this at all, and i am far from a genius to say the least: Rule #1) Don't text anything longer than 3 words...not bashing you at all (trying to help you out a little), but you're grammatically incorrect about 95% of the time...Im sure you are a smart dude who has plenty of knowledge in a lot of areas, but stay away from long texts and immediatley unemploy that tactic from your arsenal... Rule #2) follow below Rule #3) Pretend its turkey season....if they aren't responding, its time to move.... Good luck bud, hope it works out for ya. dan
  5. so i just got off the phone with my brother in law, and we were talking about the set we just hung yesterday...I had mentioned that one of us needs to get one of them ARC rangefinders since we are up 24 and 27 feet. His reply was "i don't believe in that arrow drop crap"... Well i know for a fact it makes a significant difference when using your 30 yd pin on the ground, and using your 30 yd pin 24 feet up a tree...Generally speaking, i can use my 20 yd pin out to about 32 yds without much of a drop (maybe 2 inches at most) when shooting from way up there - but you try and do that on the ground and, at least with my equipment, its not even close to the same. what do you guys think?
  6. So i was reading the newest edition of Illinois Outdoor News, and in the commentary section was some guys article about shot gun plugs...He was ranting and raving about how illinois only allows 3 shells in a shotgun and every other state around us not having a restriction on it.... Is this true? What is your state's rule on unplugged shotguns? In my opinion, by the time you have fired your 3rd shot out of a 12 guage, whatever you were shooting at is most likely way out of range...Here in IL, you can shoot unplugged shotguns for the conservation spring snow goose hunting, but even then, those birds are way beyond knock down range after 3 rounds... Just wondering, and would like to know your state's regs on it.
  7. im thinking spring turkey hunt bud....i said it before and i'll say it again (especially now that im a heck of a lot closer) get a tag for your area or put in for marion county, and its on!!! I'd be more than happy to go out and try and smoke a big ole long beard with ya...i'll even video it!
  8. The biggest ive passed on was a giant, i mean a toad, main frame 12 that probably wouldve went in the 160's. I had him at 40 yds, in a hay field, with plenty of light....the only problem was, the 25 mph winds that day...couldn't bring myself to shoot that distance in that condition...He still haunts me in my dreams. I pass on quite a few 130-140 inchers, mainly because they aren't mature yet (4.5 or older)....However, i shot a dink last year that only scored 122....when he came in, i thought for sure he was a mature buck just by his disposition...he looked really good from the side in the 4 seconds i had to see him, so i let it fly, and, well, live and learn.
  9. thanks guys....Although i highly doubt i am smart enough to figure out some of your recommendations, i appreciate all the advice...i'll try to start with looking into what types of dvd's my player can and can't read. thanks again, dan
  10. I "could" trade my XT in right now for $380, put $500 down and walk out with bran new Z7....I think with what you have on it (which reallyy doesn't matter because who knows what the buyer wants or shoots) you could sell it realistically for $290-$310. JMO your arrows, and all the extra crap is basically useless unless sold to the perfect buyer.
  11. The wife left for Miami way before sunrise...woke up and scouted some of the best ground ive ever hunted in my life...hung a set with my brother in law...spent as much time as we could setting the set of double hang ons for video and hunting purposes....and because we are men and when away from the chaos, wanted to take full advantage of it....went back to his place, checked our other set, checked food plots and then bush hogged a little here and there....not a bad way to spend Labor day i suppose.
  12. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM good stuff buddy!!!!!!!
  13. Is that the deal that looks like a really expensive cell phone? I havent owned one and never will, but my buddies who have em carry around this thingy that stores all pics on it and it looks like a cell phone..My brother in law bought a cuddeback 2 years ago, and he hated it for the issues it was giving him about retrieving photos and it needing some type of card or card reader or something...like i said, not bashing, but i don't speak cuddeback..and ive heard they are great cams.
  14. We can all tell you love it! :D:D Just bustin your marbles Jeremy...hahaha
  15. seriously...where the on earth did you find this? Who wants to go for a ride? uhhmmmm, im pretty sure thats not a haircut, probably more or less electrical burns from where his make shift helmet charred his skull...or the microwave had the wrong circuit, or a few of the 52 CD's went zingging out the CD player... Whats with.............well, as i stated before, ? He forgot the Flux Capacitor... very amusing there Koolaid...Well done!
  16. Alright, ive been working with grilling doves for a long time, but like Newton, Eureka!!! too bad this doesn't relate to grilling - its deep frying! breast your birds out, dont leave them on the bone when you feel you have enough to share with your family and everyone within smelling distance: buy yourself some great breading (what I use is by far the best from a place in iowa) http://www.totallywildseasonings.com/products/seasonedbreading.html thaw out and marinade in some type of marinade of your liking dunk in egg, and bread with your choice of breading in a ziplok bag (do this with 10-15 at a time) drop them in the fry daddy fry until floating or for about 6-8 minutes place in bowl add your favorite Buffalo Wild Wing sauce (there are alot and all are great!) cover and smother and serve Its the closest thing you'll taste next to heaven, and be flexible on what types of sauces you use....Jamaican Jerk is good, but i like em hot so i take er up a few notches... good luck and enjoy! dan
  17. so i am trying to burn all my spring turkey hunts onto a DVD...i "think" i am doing it right, but everytime i try to put the DVD into our DVD player it says something to the effect of "disc cannot re something please remove disc"...i look at the disc and can tell that it has been burned, but i don't know why the heck it wont play in our DVD player... do i have the wrong discs? The ones i have are Memorex DVD+R 16X/4.7 GB/120 min any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Dan
  18. Here's a name for ya Johnboy.... Team Goin Down!!! :D:D:D:D Just messin boys, good luck to all of you this year and be safe! dan
  19. Metropolis eh? Youre down there Jeremy arent ya? Im now in Marion County, about 10 miles north of Salem... Anyhow, you probably wouldn't be on as long if you had a faster service...Im on alot, especially looking for jobs, and we are allowed something like 5,000 megabites of time each month, of which we havent even touched1,000 of this month... just giving you a hard time about it.... but man its great. We use to stay connected 24/7/365...now all you have to do is sign off the connection and your good.
  20. Internet? Man I know that we have a good bundle of people here who live in the country who do not have access to local cable internet providers - me now being one of them. So we looked around and the satelite providers wanted $250 down coupled with a $250 installation fee - The heck with all that! We went to verizon and talked to them about their satelite thingy that requires no installation, just a thing the size of a flash drive, and for $60 a month, you cant beat it! we can take our lap top anywhere and get service all the time...Its super fast and for the price and service you cant beat it at all... just wondering if any of you have looked into it, have had it, or are looking for better service than what satelite provides.
  21. Congrats Dakota!!! Looks like your 10 banger is a single shot - very nice model too... Nope, don't mount any early season bird, wait for the real migrators to come through and mount a hog with a neck band :cool2:... As far as cooking - i generally smoke em whole and boy is it tasty...but if you are breasting em out, try the Lipton Onion Recipe....Its like eating roast beef...im serious, it'll be the best dang goose you ever ate. congrats again bud! Dan BTW - what on earth is on your finger? looks like a blue finger cast for an umpa lumpa...
  22. dude....watch the news. :ninja: i was making an effort to rip on the lates lawsuit. selling human services...
  23. not sure where youre getting your deals, but is that before or after you have to buy the viewer thingy to see your pics ($59.00)? Ive heard that they are great cams, but ive also heard that one of the newer models is junk and i think it was the IR 4, but it might have been the capture....i don't know for sure, but i don't speak cuddeback either. not knocking you or the product - just the negetives of what ive heard from family and friends.
