I will be planting this weekend just north of the city of macon, and need some advice on what to plant to attract deer. There are 4 fields and a power line, and need some thoughts on planting. I have never had to pick out the seed and looking for someone to help me out. Any information about which seed to get would be great. Thanks

I bought the stick last year and each time i went to the woods i put some out. I usually put it on a couple of trees my stand is around. When i get set in the stand, i put a little more on the tree. Many of times there were deer right under my stand and didnt bust me. I had some younger bucks walk up to where i placed the scent and started licking it. I liked the product.

I added two more stand to the land. I figured there had to be a funnel at the yellow dot on the south side. That spot next to the land on the west side is super thick and saw alot of deer come from that area last year so i figured its the bedding area. Also i figured some will walk around the field to get to the oaks. I hope to cut them off, just trying to figure out if it will be a better morning stand or evening.

The land i can hunt is 70 acres, 30 field "planted in wheat 4 to 5 years ago" and 40 in woods. Some of the woods i cant hunt b/c its right next to a neighborhood which the owner doesnt want me to hunt. But the yellow dot is where i shot my first deer " 8 point" last year and when i was first able to hunt the land last year it was mid oct and there was alot of rubs in this location. I have also got good bucks on camera this year and last. I have posted them on the forum before if you wanted to check them out. There is a ten point i got pictures of within the last month. The blue line is a small small creek and from the field to the creek it about 50 degrees sloping toward the creek. Its also atleast 400 to 600 yards from the field to creek. The owners house usually has some type of garden in the back yard. Also the north side of the pond there is some really thick woods that used to be a small field that is all grown up and hasnt been touched in 10 years. I have seeen alot of deer from from that section and cross the field. if anyone can make sence of this let me know where you would put some stands. I posted two pictures one it looks like spring/summer and the other is fall/winter so you can get an idea of where thick cover is and where oak trees are. Thanks

Just checked the camera today and this hoss was on there. What do you think on size "age and score"? This could be a buck of a lifetime for me.

I was wondering if there was a certain type of apple that deer prefer in Georgia. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

the law in georgia is you have to be 200 yards and out of sight of the corn. That is possible since the land i hunt is 70 acres, but i just want to try and keep the deer on the property. Just wasnt sure if it messes up there normal patterns if i start putting corn out in different areas. I just put out some minerals and salt to get some pictures. i hope that can atleast draw them onto the property for early bow season " early september".

I live in Georgia which you cant hunt over corn, but my question is should i bait them or not. I first hunted this land last year and it was about a month into the season, but i wasnt sure what was there so i started putting out corn with a camera over it to see whats all there. Plenty of nice buck, but they were always showing up at night "until the rut" but i dont hunt over corn so i cant figure out if i should hunt there normal patterns or if i should start feeding them again. I just know it changes there patterns and wasnt sure so i am looking for some advice. Plus that corn is up to almost $10 for a 40 pound bag. Any advice

I am planning on hunting the second weekend "7th" or the third weekend "14". I the 7th is soon after a new moon and the 14th is right after the first quarter moon. Which is best to hunt? They have alot of planted green fields and alot of the land is 10 year old pines that you cant hunt in b/c to thick. Based on the moon which weekend would be best. I will be hunting in Washington county.

I have hunted him twice since the 19th, but with thanksgiving coming up i will be on him from friday-sunday.

This is the biggest buck i have ever got on camera. To me he is a buck of a lifetime. What do you think on age and score. This is a georgia deer.
-
What happend to these buck, i think the 8 point got hit by a car and the 9 point that is broken up looks like a bad bow shot or fighting. The area is bow only and i hunt 70 acres with houses around it. What are your thoughts and will they make it?

Thanks for the replies, look like from the pictures it will work perfect. little on the heavy side, but if it will get the matures out in the open i am willing to try anything. Thanks

I have a delta deer target that has only been shot about 35 times. Could this work as a deer decoy, if so should i put the horns on it or leave it as a doe. I hunt in georgia right around atlanta. Any info would be great.

I just got the green light on this land that is a total of 70 acres with the field being 30 acres. here is the break down of the land. the picture is from the winter time so the oaks right now are still green. The blue line is a very small creek like 2 feet wide. from the field to the creek is a pretty good slope down i would say atleast 70 to 100 feet difference maybe even more but its just a slope not that steep.as you can see there are houses all around the land. the green dot is where my climber is and there are some good rubs aroudnt his area "coke can size rubs" Have seen deer in the east side of the field. Any info on a good location to sit would be great. I have walked a good part of the land, but dont want to bother it right now b/c the rut is about to be in full swing.

rut in ga usually starts up around the first weekend of nov where i am hunting now. I just dont want to spook them.

I was thinking this bucks are 2 1/2, but need some advice on the age and score. These are two different bucks. This is a Georgia deer. The main question i have is his tarsals are starting to get dark now and rut only weeks away. since his tarsals are starting to get dark is it a bad idea if i put out some doe estrous out. let me know your thoughts. Last weekend i noticed two young bucks chasing a young doe. Thanks
-
Thats what i was thinking to, thats the only reason that i asked. I know GA you cant have stuff like this within 200 yards. Still would like to know if it works or not.
-
Does anyone know when the rut should kick in. I hunt more of middle GA. I have heard of any early rut, but have also heard more that it going to be a late rut due to the moon. Not sure which info is right. any information would be great. thanks
-
Has anyone ever tried this product. any information would be great. Also on the bottle it says it is legal in all states, would this be true for GA.

I have been reading alot about these scents. I have read alot of good reviews on the ever calm, but has anyone used any other scents. i saw where they even have corn in a stick, apple in a stick, or apple in a stick. has anyone used any of these. pros and cons. Thanks

I only get to hunt this land once a year and will be going down tom for three days and need some ideas on where to hunt. The fields that you see are planted, but all around them are pines that were planted about 10 years ago so they are too small to hunt in and way to thick. I need some help looking for funnels. i would say 50% small pines, 25% 6 year old clear cut, and 25% hardwoods that have been mostly flooded in the last month. Please give me some ideas on some places to hunt.
