I know i have posted this before, but i have the right property line now and more info on the property. this is in lower alabama and its about 1200 acres.The yellow dots are box stands that have a planted field infront of it. There is a little blue next to a yellow dot that i have seen a nice deer, but its right at dark and that was 2 or 3 weeks ago. most of the land is planted pines but not in rows and its way to thick to hunt and the other part is a 7 year clear cut that you cant see in b/c its grown up so high. There is a state park that is in the upper picture. There is scrapes and rubs now and with this cold weather coming it should be getting good now. I am goin this weekend for 3 days. Hunting pressure has been about every other weekend with only at most 5 hunters. What are some of your ideas on places to hunt.

Need to add something about this property. People hunt it prob almost every weekend or so.But not only 1 to 4 hunters. and Second the land around the fields where most of the yellow dots are was clear cut about 6 years ago and the thick stuff thats in the middle is pines that are still to young to hunt in. So both places are perfect for a bedding area b/c its to thick to even sit in. its about 1000 acres also. The part in the upper right and to the right is where the hardwoods start. I am going in mid jan and its in lower alabama which the rut just starts getting good. Any more ideas

I am in the market for a new bow sight. I am looking for a sight that has 6 or 7 pins. I have a hoyt magnatec bow and just wanna do some updates. I am looking for a sight that is easy and quick to adjust. And Not sure if this is a dumb question, but when you buy a sight are the pins already set on the yards or do i have to move each pin.

The buck that has the missing brow tine, do you think it is broken off or do you think he just doent have one. It looks to me that it was just missing, not broken. But my question is would he grow both brow tines if he makes it to next year?

The buck with the missing brow tine had to be in full rut, it was about that time of year. The buck with the broke g3 which was my origianl post and am pretty sure its the same buck that was in my pervious post with two better pictures of him. b/c they both have broken g3 if they are different. I thought they were the same, but thats why i am asking yall. So both deer would be in the 3.5 age range and both would go over 115?

I am hunting around fresh scrapes and i just bought some of the tinks power scrape, Should i use it around my stand since there are about 5 scrapes around me. not sure if this will mess things up. and has anyone used this product before.

Have another question. when using the decoy should i put the antlers in it or just leave them out. The RUT should be here really soon.

I have a question, I have the delta deer for bow target and just got it and shot at it only about 25 times. the target has the little foam layers, but i was wondering if i could use this bow target as a decoy. and also i hunt in Georgia and not sure if decoys even really work. what are some thoughts.

Hunt in Monroe county, was hunting this past weekend i had really fresh rubs and scrapes. They are cleaning the scapes alot. rubbin horns all in the scrapes. But had does all around me, but nothing following them. I think it should kick up this weekend with it getting colder.

This past weekend i was blind calling and one called back, before i knew it i had a button buck and two does come in and they feed right infront of me and then moved behind me and i thought they were gone, so I started blind calling and did this two different times and i turned around and saw the belly of a doe that was bedded down about forty yards behind me and when i was looking she got up when all i saw was two big body deer came in and then i found out that there was about 5 deer bedded down right behind me in the cover. So when the two big body deer came in about five min after my blind grunting the does bedded down got up and went with the other deer, couldnt see what they were but they were big. So I have always blind grunted and will always do it have had lots of success with it.

i usually do put my straps tight to the bottom of my climber, but i did forget that this time. And there were some dead branches that after i got done hunting on sunday i broke them so i could get up about another 5 feet. The tree where my climber is like the only tree around that i can put it on b/c all the other trees just wont work. I can only see about forty yards and if i moved it i would only be about to see about fifteen yards. Out of about 9 does only two looked up at me. And i am in a location where alot of rubs to my right and pawings to my left. Do you think its worth it to move and lose sight of all the sign, knowing where the deer come from i wouldnt be able to see anymore. And i have a the wind in my favor now and if i move trees it may not be the case. Since the rut should be hitting this weekend i am going to stay in my climber all day, should i just give the tree another shot and if it happens again just move it half way through the hunt?

Well i had just moved my climber there. This past weekend was the first time i hunted there. i just moved it saturday early mourning.

This past weekend i was hunting and saturday evening i had a doe come up behind me and i know she didnt smell me but i was in my summit climber about fifteen feet up in a pine tree and she got about ten yards from me just looked right up at me. i didnt move or anything. And on sunday mouring i had a doe come from another direction and she got about fifteen yards away from me and just looked right up at me. Like i said they didnt smell me, but after they looked up at me they didnt stomp there foot or anything just keep looking and then moved off. And sunday i had about four deer bedded about thirty yards right behind me. What are some ideas. am i not high enough or i have always wondered about how deer can see UV light. What are your thoughts and what can i do to change.

I hunt in middle GA and i though the bucks would be in rut now, i went hunting over the weekend and saw alot of does but there was nothing following. the rut usually happens right now and i figured it would be early and never late. there was alot of sign on the property. trees tore up and pawings everywhere and fresh. when they make pawings does it mean. is it rut or is it close how can you tell?
