  6. you might be a redneck if.... You field dressed a deer, cut the B hole off of the deer, to put over my hunting buddies radio antenna!:D:D GAWD, I am ornery!
  7. I admit... I was thinking... "Now what am I going to do?" That is when I reached for my hunting knife, cut off my underwear! LOL! ..... but I already knew that I was a redneck!
  8. I do the bulk of my scouting about February / March. It is easy to see what happened the last season, if there is no snow on. Look for antler drops then also. After selecting trees for next season, I put them up well in advance of the upcoming season and NEVER go back until I am hunting them. An old buck will only need to smell where you have been once or twice to move on to another area.
  9. If you married your step mother while your dad was in prison. (yip... I know someone like this)

  15. you might be a redneck if.... Your bear mount cost more than the car that you bought to drive to work!
  16. Missouri 2008 deer Nice buck! I live about a hour from there and I know point restrictions have helped. I used to rarely find antler drops, now I find an average of 1 an hour! "Shoot a doe and let 'um grow" has been my philosophy for the last 15 years. It makes a difference. I am now shooting a mature deer with my bow almost every year. I pass on Pope & Young deer every year... point restictions are helping!
  17. trillion That IS a lot of dough. Lets not forget, we were in the black 8 years ago. I was not a Clinton fan, but we were at least in the black. I dont' know what the answer is, but cutting government waste seems to be the logical way. I work for the Dept. of Corrections and I see waste at a state level...cannot imagine the waste at a federal level.
  18. If you kill a record book animal with the aid of an lighted knock, so be it... and congratulations. It had little or nothing to do with you killing that animal anyway. If Pope & Young don't like it, so what? Any trophy that I have killed, makes me feel the sense of accomplishment, whether I put it in a book or not. I have killed several that would make the book and never entered them, so that I would not draw attention to my areas that I hunt. I also pass up on numerous Pope & Young whitetails every year. If you kill every 125" deer that walks by, you'll be done hunting early and rarely kill a 140" or better buck. Gross score is all that matters to me, anyway. Having my name in the book really does not mean that much to me, but knowing that I could, is what really matters.
  19. Well said Colorado Bob! Bush 1 should have finished the job the first time we were in Iraq. Then Bush 2 fabricated and distorted the facts to get support to invade Iraq. 9-11 had no Iraq people on those planes. Many were Saudis. So we attack Iraq instead of Saudi Arabia?? Now , Bush 2 spent so much money , that we are broke and owe money to communist China. I always thought "conservative" meant to be tight with money. If a liberal spent this much money, put our country in this shape, you would talk nonstop about those spending liberals. By the way, I am not a liberal. I voted for McCain, but I could have never voted for Bush, and never either time. Saudi Arabia does not like us, but they sure like our money. I am not a fan of Obama, but he has a big hill to climb us out of because of Bush 2. So lets give him a chance... we have no other choice.
  20. Our hunting club get our insurance through Lockton Risk Services. It is a NRA endorsed insurance program. The # is 1 877 487 5407. I have never had to try and collect for anything and it runs us about $400 a year for 1000 acres for how we have it set up.
  21. unions It is me again... I don't belong to a union either. It seems many of you must think that I do. I just said that, Unions (A.K.A. organized labor) was responsible for the many job benefits that we now have. These companies do not give us benefits just because they are nice. Health insurance, paid holidays, sick leave, death leave, retirement, maternity leave, FMLA (Family Leave and Medical Act) which protects your job if you have a prolonged illness, overtime pay, healthy, safe working are the benefits for workers uniting for all of us. Again, I am not union, but without them, I think we could be just like any other 3rd world country, working at poverty wages for a dollar a day, and kids sent to work at sweatshops. If you don't think so , look at some other countries and see what they do. Unions are not perfect, but I am glad we have them.
  22. Unions The next time you complain about a union... think about this. Why do I have vacation time, sick leave, maternity leave, health insurance, paid holidays? The answer is "organized labor." A.K.A. as "unions". Let us not forget, without unions, we would have NEVER had many fringe benefits that we have today at our jobs. Are unions perfect? No. At least we have some standards to go by, unlike many other countries in this world that have none. We can get a decent wage, instead of pennies a day. Our fringe benefits are not given to us by the "goodness of their hearts" by any company or state. I don't know about you, but I am glad that we have them or we would not have any benefits at our jobs. If you don't believe that unions have their place, I suggest you to work on "Labor Day", just to make a statement.
  23. I am not against Haliburton being involved ... but am STRONGLY against giving them a blank check! I am glad to see cheap oil. I drive 80 miles a day to work. Oil prices drove inflation, which in turn started or recession. If you do not think that Cheney is not loyal to his former company, you have blinders on! One question... how many people were on the plane that attacked the U.S.? Now, how many were from Saudi Arabia?
