  1. He's got a tiny snood starting, the female chicks didnt have one we could always be wrong though.
  2. So sorry to hear that, Its just took bad how some people are. We have had an on going stuggle up at my cabin. Its private property with signs all around it, and what do we find? deer stands scattered all over our 80 acre plot. One smack in the middle! Shouldnt have to worry about walking around your own land, but we do..during deer season in particular.
  3. Turned out very nice hun.
  4. I agree, sounds like your taxidermist was just being lazy. Unless the skulls were damaged, He should have use the real thing. Still looks nice though.
  5. Neat mount! Love the chocolate color
  6. After hunting him for the past few years it has to feel good to get him in the end, even if its not the way you wanted to get ahold of him. But you got his sheds to boot! He looked to be a very mature deer, hopefully he passed his double brows to his offspring

    Two new mounts

good point. Ill try and mess with the wires and get him going up more. It was my first bird and I learned alot, so I cant be too bummed about the feathers.
  9. Wish I didnt have to work that night. Very happy for you though!

    Two new mounts

First one is a red fox, she took a buck shot to her throat so I had to patch her up a bit. Plus I wanted to have a little fun and give her blue eyes. all in all, she turned out well. Secondly, This is my first ever bird mount. I know it needs improvements, but Im just happy I got the first one done. My uncle gave me this bird, and when I got it he was missing a section of wing feathers. Other than that, hes ok.

    just a few yotes

thanks guys, I appreciate the critiques. If I dont hear the negative, I wont have a chance for improvement. wtnhunt ~ The yote just looks cross eyed in the picture, if you look at it head on they are set right...I cropped a different picture, but still doesnt show it the best. the second yote I didnt put as much effort into. The guy wanted me to make him a decoy for hunting, his exact words "dont put too much time into it, as long as it slightly resembles a yote, Ill be happy" ...some decoy though if you ask me all of these yotes were slipping when I got them, haha the part of the belly on the first one has been replaced, and the tail on the second one is a replacement as well.
  12. That is an awesome Idea!. I really like it!

    just a few yotes

well, the bottom jaw is close to what it should be, although I'd like to lighten the color a bit more. Its the top lip that is way off, it should be showing but I had a hard time with the form/jawset. Next time I will work with it more so the form will allow me to tuck the lips out of sight better. Ive got two more coyote capes to do, so Ill practice on them thanks for all the comments everyone!
  14. First is a customer coyote I just finished up, very nice color on that dog. This one is for the same customer, but this one is just a decoy he had me do for hunting. Sorry for the poor picture. he is still drying too. And finally, this was my first shot at an open mouth mount. turned out ok, but theres alot I'd do differently on the next one.

    So frustrated...

That’s poor business management right there. He should mount the animals in the order that he receives them. The fact that your dads deer came back before your squirrel proves it. Unfortunately, the chance you'll get your money back is probably pretty slim. And if there is no refunds on deposits, than I’m guessing you signed a contract or something?....hopefully he does the right thing though. If you don’t mind me asking...what was the total cost of this mount going to be?
  16. Redkneck....you mean like this?? haha just had to wait for my dad to bring me the right piece..its actually poplar, not birch like I mentioned before. jesse8953....It will be on ebay in the future Heck, Ill throw a picture of this little fellow in the post too... Was tricky to work with, has room for improvement, but he'll do. This is my first ermine (weasel)
