lol, that's a good one. We made a flame thrower out of a shop-vac, it didn't last long but was good for a couple of minutes of amusement... Just use a real good rubber band (or a couple) and some paper clips. You'll be surprised at their range especially with two or three inline.. Just make sure you don't hit your finger IT REALLY HURTS!!

lol, uhmm nope your the first.... I had such a blast the first time, I went back up last weekend with my daughter. She sat in the blind with me and she loved it (saw a couple doe). I was looking for my Turkey that never came into the tank. Can anyone recommend any good junior bows for her?

I'd like to thank all those that helped in providing me with tips and tricks on harvesting my first deer! I absolutely had a blast and learned so much. Even better, I have been able to peek the interest in yet another young hunter, my daughter. So with any luck next year she'll be in the draw with me for deer or elk.

That looks nice... but to me it seems a little busy... What if some thing went wrong and one of the brushes didn't release... I think I might give it a try though... after this hunting season....

Deer.. I put in for Elk but didn't get it. I went last year just to help my bud's out and was instantly hooked. We stalked down an antelope last year, I was able to get within 50yards last year of an Antelope. I put in for his butt this year, I hope I get drawn for that too. I've been waiting for about a year now... I hear ya, we try and stay as loose as possible at the huntsite and everything. But when it all boils down to it, I hope I don't choke. lol... Any tips you can pass along feel free. I'm as green as they come...

I agree I wear mine all the time now, it's by far the most comfortable one I own.. I have like 3-4 holsters that just sit in the dresser now. Sometimes I have to be carefull because I forget its there.

I've target shot for a while and had my bow at about 50lbs... Since I started getting into hunting, I went straight to 70lbs. I noticed a difference. When I was at 50lbs I could shot all day long, when I went to 70lbs I could only shot 20-30 arrows in a session. After 4-5 months I'm used to it so it doesn't bother me anymore. But I agree, with the above, the first shot is the only one that matters. So now I'll just be messing around the house when I get the urge I step outside and take one shot to make sure I'm still on spot. So far so good. I know that's kind of hard to do in some folks houses. oh yea I usually try to hold my bow back for about 30 seconds, I figure this will allow me to wait for the perfect shot, while under pressure. I dunno if its good or not but I can easily group 1 inch at 50, all day long. Everytime I think I can release I always tell myself, that's a good shot, and I count how many times I could've released inside that 30 seconds.

So I got drawn, my first time. What do you guys carry in your packs when your up in tree or in the blind? I have the camo day pack by camelback so it has water in it. 1) scent spray 2) pee bottle (questionable, from what I read in the other forum) 3) knife 4) string / rope 5) Bow hanger 6) blow up doll (just kidding) 7) ? what else any ideas?

Nice bow.... How do I know when to replace my strings? I have tiny little hairs fraying (sp) but when I wax them they go away. Is there a set time to replace your strings? I.e. like 100 arrows or so many years. Thx

I dunno if it's the best but it really softened up my first one (horse) I've only had the cow for about 3 weeks and it's already starting to feel super soft. I Google'd it and it's at the top on almost everyone's list. I see that it's also used on saddles and baseball gloves. Just call crossbreed and see what they say.

I use the NEATS oil, I only use it on the back, it worked really good on the horse holster. I used a small towel so as not to make a mess, and just started dabbing it on. The holster soaked it right up, so I just kept doing it until the back was all darkened, and then repeated every other day, for about a week or two. That NEATS oil came with my work boots, so I didn't have to pay for it. I get a pair every year. I still have the other half bottle, I'll never use it, let me know if you have a hard time finding it I'll send you this one.

How far are you guys shooting away from the chrono? Just Curious.

I'm freaking jumping out of my skin, we got until August 14th here, hopefully we got the draw that we wanted we've been scouting for 2 months now.

lol, the little turtle counter in your sig, that's great...

ok, I imagine your talking points like as in scoring, is there like a general guide to this, and if so where can I read more on it. Thanks.

are you guys kidding me... lol.... 119 today. I'm building an air-conditioned shooting lane on the side of my house... to practice... :clown:

I like my 300 WSM for predator hunting too much to give up... Other than that I just take my bow.

It only gets better, just keep oiling it. Did you get the cow or horse? I think my horse one is more comfortable than the cow, but I've had the horse one longer. I try to wear it in the same spot everytime, that way the leather molds better. I did a speed class last week and I was drawing faster than the guys with speed holsters. I pulled down the clips one notch so that the holster rides high on my belt line.

I just use the MDL XL from Cabelas and then I just recently purchased the GlenDel Buck 3D with the insert, from my buddy for $75 bucks.

Indeed, as I only have tried to bag a whitetail last year, and scouted for Elk this year. I don't really know what I want to hunt most, sounds like you guys hunt across the board, and not just one thing. I don't really care about harvesting a lot, just being able to hunt at anytime. I kind of want to compare it to going out on our boat. Some days I feel like going home early from work and just going out on the boat. I want to be able to just get the urge and go out for a day or two, or three.. Thanks again guys for all the intel, this really has opened my eyes up to different things.

Sweet, I'm going there for a class next month, I'll look around. I did give Alaska a thought, But my mom was like "heck no". Thanks for the ideas guys/gals, I knew asking here would be a good thing.
