Well, my dad shot One Horn today. This buck we have a bit of history with. Last year he was a nice buck, but his right beam was broken off toward the base. Maybe a high 140's to 150 buck. My brother Tom and my Dad snuck in on him last year and got within 20 yards or so, but passed on him. "A next year buck" Well, then this year blue tongue struck our area and killed many of the deer so we hadn't seen much for deer and were not sure if One Horn had made it. Today my Mom sent and email titled One Horn, I thought maybe they found his shed or something, but much to my surprise my Dad shot him today! He was on our northern piece of land that my parents own, to the east of a big dam on my parents property. This is what my Mom sent this morning in an email...I will post pictures later! "Dad shot One Horn this morning. He was in the steel bin coulee next to Swihart's. Sean and Dad walked right up to him. He was bedded with a doe. Tom was back aways by the pickup in case he went another way. Sean and Dad snuck up to him at 30 yards when he jumped up. Dad looked at him for a while and then went ahead and shot once. He missed, and dropped him with the second shot, 284 lever action Savage. They loaded him up and hauled him home. He scores 147- 1/4 gross and if his other side would have been the same as the good side he would have been a 165 to 170 gross." As you will see his one side grew back but all funky like!haha Well, all from here. A few pics are attached. The first is a picture of 1 horn my Dad took last year during season and then the next three are of him this year!
