  1. You hear alot about sheds found, but what is the nicest dead buck that you've found. Just in the past two years I've found 6. Please post some pics, Thanks!
  2. Biggest buck takenedGot this buck on opening day rifle in MO, 2009. Not sure what he scores?
  3. Big shedsHere are two of my biggest, I have one pair from a 2 yr. old 10 pointer that is smaller than these.
  4. Today I went for a 4 hour walk in a local State Park where I've had very good luck finding sheds, although right now we still got bout 6 inches of snow on the ground. I seen something very strange today. I came over a bluff that has about a 150 yard ditch before the next big hill, when I seen a doe running down the opposite hill. I thought that she had winded/seen me, but she turned and ran towards my direction. Behind her was a real nice 8 point prob. 2 year old buck packing both his sides. Well I watched them for about 5 minutes and she could not shake him. He was hound dogging her bad. I've never seen a buck chasing this late here. Our peak rut is normally in early/middle November. Well they disappeared over hill, and I kept on some trails where I jumped two other bucks both still packing racks. Should start getting good soon!
  5. yea but if you jump them now it won't effect what bucks will be around next fall. Two weeks ago I was coyote hunting and jumped about 10 deer. Well I got up in a stand and watched the ones that were spooked circle back around and went right back into the thicket they came from.
  6. tall grass bedding areas, and tucked in field edges (ie. bean/corn)
  7. Well I don't know how to rad but alright whatever.
  8. NorthCentral MOI want on a team, new at this competition though. These are some of my sheds from the past 2 years. I live in North Central MO, and have a 1500acre farm 17 miles from the Iowa border if that tells you something. I want to play, GAME ON!!
  9. Seen another half rack buck north of Trenton, MO. Got a foot of snow here now though!
  10. That's what I was wondering..man if his left matched he would be real nice, but he's got character.
  11. Went out this morning to a local lake/rock quarry shed hunting and end up finding my 2nd biggest dead buck ever found (my 1st scored 169 typical 10 pt). This area is public for bow hunting only and I find alot of dead bucks here but this one is sweet. Typical 12 point, right side is alot taller but no broken points, prob 130s, 3 or 4 yr old. Gonna try my first euro mount myself. Any suggestions how best way to clean this dude up? Thanks!!
  12. Anyone finding any sheds yet? Seen a 3 year old buck with his right side gone @ the base, don't know if he shed yet or broke it, I'm ready though!!
  13. Trenton, MO Got a 1500 acre farm north of Trenton, MO..near the Thompson River bottoms.
  14. Did some walking round a local lake today and seen a nice 3 year old buck with his right side gone already. Not sure if broke off but looked pretty clean, maybe shedded already. Gonna look for them both next month.
  15. Shed HeadYea here in North Central MO, I usually start looking towards the end of Jan., with snow still on the ground I can atleast get an idea on where their bedding/traveling, then through Feb/March I hit it hard. Best spots for me: Field edges that are tucked back into corners, thickets where they bed, travel routes from these thickets to corn, fences where they have to jump (the landing sometimes knocks the antlers off), and if you find one odds are the other one is close, bothers the bucks to be lopsided. Good luck this year!!
