  1. I would give myself a 4-5 for both entry and exit. The only time I think about exit is a quartering away shot. Broadside I do not even think about it. I have had to many deer jump the string to always know exactly where I hit them. I hunt in high-pressured areas with very jumpy deer. Any noise even the slightest causes them to flinch.

    Good news

Great news. Best wishes for her.
  3. Go with the .308. More ammo options and abiltiy to harvest wider variety of animals.
  4. Congrats. As someone else said that is truly what hunting is about.
  5. The more I read the sicker it makes me feel.
  6. Monster for sure. Lots of mass and great character. Congrats.
  7. Nature can be cruel sometimes.
  8. Great deer. I hunt in NC and GA. That is a BIG DEER for these parts. Nice job.
  9. I use a Mossberg 500 12 ga. with a rifled barrel and Bushnell 2-7x32 shotgun scope. Right now I am using Lightfield's with good results.
  10. Just do not feel comfortable with quartering to and frontal.
  11. I practice mostly with block or bag usually just broadside shots for the majority of the year. I try to do this 2-5 per wk, depending on weather. When July rolls around I set-up 3-d and usually do broadside, quartering away and elevated out of childrens playground. I still probably practice 97% of the time broadside.
  12. Keep your head hope. Hope you had success on your last day.
  13. Another attempt by the Anti's to stop us from hunting. This is the reason I support groups like USSA, NRA and SCI. Those groups give us a voice.
  14. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.
