Today has been a LOOOOOONG time coming - I can't wait for the returns to start coming in tonight - I can't wait for Ms Speaker of the house to realize she is out of a job - I think the Harry Reid will be beat - I can't wait to hear how the president tries to spin this expecting whipping tomorrow!!!!:cell:Republicans took back the house and Pelosi is gone. I still can't find trust in politicians regardless of what side of the aisle they are on. We are a long way to what America used to be.
I agree. I was hoping Reid would become history. We have a long ways to go if we can ever wish to restore a constitutional government. Main thing is to get these socialist's defeated.
Have you ever wondered why it is that conservatives are called 'right,' and liberals are called 'left.'
Here is the true meaning.
The answer comes from the Bible.
Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV)
..."The heart of the wise inclines to the right,
but the heart of the fool is to the left."

Annie Oakley, and anything you've ever heard or read about Annie is true. She practiced shooting as much as 6 hours a day.
The Annie Oakley Motto:
"Aim at the high mark and you will hit it. No, not the first time, nor the second and maybe not the third.
But keep on aiming and keep on shooting for only practice will make you perfect.
Finally, you'll hit the Bull's Eye of Success."
This incredible women who called herself Annie Oakley overcame adversity, poverty, prejudice, physical setbacks and her inner modesty to become a star shooter and a woman who broke barriers for other women in the entertainment industry, and in trapshooting, sport hunting, and self-defense arenas.
This is a short and interesting history of Annie Oakley.

Let me narrow this question down to a choice of one hunting (survival) firearm for the sole purpose of putting fresh meat on the table for your family, not for war or any form of combat.
What would you eliminate? Would you eliminate semi and automatic weapons? I would as they are comprised of more moving parts and can malfunction compared to something more simple like a bolt action.
How about the old stand-by like the 30-30 lever action. However, you would find yourself limited when it came to hunting waterfowl and upland birds.
Have any choices or solutions?
Here's one worth considering, over & under combo.

Here in the Mojave Desert we have rock crawling and hill climb competition along with the Baja off road race.
The 4 X 4 Jeeps do pretty good in this competition and we have a Ford Bronco club here and there doing well also. However, you open the hood on some of these jeeps and your likely to see a modified Chevy 350 inside. Looks like fun. It was originally a hobby that has now developed into a serious investment, especially when you take a look at the modified or custom suspension systems these vehicles have.

We don't have what would be considered dangerous game or animal's at my end of the Mojave Desert.
Looks like this video was taped in the vicinity of where I live. Two nasty critters. This cat has pretty much got this Mojave rattler measured. Ever had a kitty cat as a pet? You know how fast their paws can be with claws extended.
The Mojave rattler is one of the most poisonious snakes in North America. I've killed a few and not by choice. I was usually on a rock formation with no place to go but about a 200 foot drop in either direction and these rattlers do not back down, they can be aggressive.

Sad to say your correct.
The road to heaven is beginning to look more like a path.
I had a strange thought the other day thinking about the freeway going to Satan's paradise (lake of fire). It was a Los Angeles freeway during rush hour with 12 lanes leading out of town. The traffic was barely moving, complete bumper to bumper and they were still trying to pass each other!

God & Christian Denominations.
God & Christian Denominations.
What does God think about the existence of so many Christian Denominations?
The Gospel of Jesus records that He built one church and that all saved people were in that church. He prayed for unity and rebuked division. Denominations as we know them did not exist till centuries later. Yet today hundreds of denominations exist in the name of Christianity, claiming to be Christian.
To the average person, 'Christianity' includes hundreds of different denominations that disagree with one another in name, organization, doctrine, worship, and plan of salvation. Such a situation clearly constitutes division, not unity. Yet all the denominations claim to be Christian and to follow Jesus Christ. You would think that if we really wanted to please God we would forsake what we want and practice what He wants.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 "Man's whole duty is to fear God and keep His commandments. We should be determined to do God's will, not our own."
Matthew 16:24 "To follow Jesus one must deny himself. True religion does not consist of what pleases us. It is entirely a question of what pleases God."
Let's go fast-forward to the 20th and 21st centuries and you will see just how far astray the church has gone and especially your major religions which are nothing more than big business. We must remember that the church is built on Jesus and belongs to Him.

The Apostles' Creed.
As usually recited today. (One of a few different translations).
I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord;
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit,
and born of the Virgin Mary,
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
*He descended to the dead. (In older translations, "He descended into ****")
On the third day He rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to mjudge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, *the holy Catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
* The phrase into '****' in older translations and the phrase 'to the dead' both translate the phrase 'into hades' in the original Creek of the creed.
This realm of the dead is called 'sheol' in Hebrew and 'hades' in Greek.
Neither of these words including '****' connotes punishment. It's just a waiting room for the resurrection and the judgement.
* The phrase 'The Holy Catholic Church' does not imply the Catholic Church (Roman). Catholic is a Greek word meaning 'whole' or 'Universal.'
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
AMEN

.... Our Christian Brothers.
Do we know the name of each of the 12 Apostles?
Do we know what each Apostle accomplished in his Ministry?
Do we know how each Apostle died in the name of Jesus Christ?
First, the Apostles were continually threatened and pressured to deny their Lord during their ministry; especially as they faced torture and martyrdom. However, none of these men who spent time with Jesus chose to save their lives by denying their faith in Him.
Consider this hypothetical situation: Supppse these men had conspired to form a new religion based on their imagination. How long would anyone continue to proclaim something they knew was a lie when faced with lengthy tortures and an inescapable, painful death? All they had to do to escape martyrdom was to admit they had concocted a lie and simply deny their faith and claims about Jesus. It defies both common sense and the evidence of history that anyone, let alone a group of twelve men, would persist in proclaiming a lie when they could walk away by admitting that it was a fraud.
Yet, history reveals that not one of these men, who knew Jesus personally, ever denied their testimony about Him despite the threat and reality of imminent death. This proves to any fair-minded observer that these men possessed an absolute unshakable personal knowledge about the truth of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. Each of the Apostles were called upon to pay the ultimate price to prove their faith in Jesus, affirming with their life's blood that Jesus was the true Messiah, the Son of God, and the only hope of salvation for a sinful hummanity.
Most of our information about the deaths of the Apostles is derived from early church traditions. While tradition is unreliable as to small details, it very seldom contains outright inventions. Eusebius one of the most important of the early church historians wrote his history of the early church.
Matthew: Suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia, killed by a sword wound.
Mark: Died in Alexandria, Egypt, after being dragged by horses through the streets until he was dead.
Luke: Was hanged in Greece as a result of his tremendous preaching to the lost.
John: Faced martyrdom when he was boiled in a huge basin of boiling oil during a wave of persecution in Rome. However, he was miraculously delivered from death. John was then sentenced to the mines on the prison island of Patmos. He wrote his prophetic Book of Revelation on Patmos. The Apsotle John was later freed and returned to serve as Bishop of Edessa in modern Turkey. He died as an old man, the only apostle to die peacefully.
Peter: Was crucified upside down on an x-shaped cross, according to church tradition because he told his tormentors that he felt unworthy to die in the same way that Jesus Christ had Died.
James the Just: The leader of the church in Jerusalem, was thrown over a hundred feet down from the southwest pinnacle of the Temple when he refused to deny his faith in Christ. When they discovered that he survived the fall, his ememies beat James to death with a fullers club. This was the same pinnacle where Satan had taken Jesus during the Temptation. Church tradition says that James, brother of Jesus, wrote the book of James in the New Testament, although the author assignation in James 1:1 is ambiguous. (One of several places in the New Testament where it is difficult to ascertain which 'James' is being referenced! - see also 1 Cor 15:7). James is mentioned by Josephus in his massive work Jewish Antiquities.
James the Greater: A son of Zebedee, was a fisherman by trade when Jesus called him to a lifetime of ministry. As a strong leader of the church, James was ultimately beheaded at Jerusalem. The Roman officer who guarded James watched amazed as James defended his faith at his trial. Later, the officer walked beside James to the place of execution. Overcome by conviction, he declared his new faith to the judge and knelt beside James to accept beheading as a Christian.
Bartholomew: Also known as Nathanal, was a missionary to Asia. He witnessed to our Lord in present day Turkey. Bartholomew was martyred for his preaching in Armenia when he was believed to have been flayed to death by a whip. He may have been crucified.
Andrew: Was crucified on an x-shaped cross in Patras, Greece. After being whipped severely by seven soldiers they tied his body to the cross with cords to prolong his agony. His followers reported that, when he was led toward the cross, Andrew saluted it in these words: "I have long desired and expected this happy hour. The cross has been consecrated by the body of Christ hanging on it." He continued to preach to his tormentors for two days until he expired.
Thomas: Was stabbed with a spear in India during one of his missionary trips to establish the church in the subcontinent.
Jude: The brother of Jesus, was killed with arrows when he refused to deny his faith in Christ.
Matthias: Matthias was chosen by the Apostles to replace Judas Iscariot, after the death of Judas in the field of Blood. Information concerning the life and death of Matthias is vague and contradictory. One tradition maintains that Matthias was stoned at Jerusalem by the Jews, and then beheaded.
Barnabas: One of the group of seventy disciples, wrote the Epistle of Barnabas. He preached throughout Italy and Cyprus. Barnabas was stoned to death at Salonica.
Phillip: Was crucified, according to the plaque in the church of the Holy Apostles.
Paul: Was believed to have been tortured and then beheaded by the evil Emperor Nero at Rome in A.D. 67. Paul endured a lengthy imprisonment which allowed him to write his many Epistles to the churches he had formed throughout the Roman Empire. These letters, which taught many of the foundational doctrines of Christianity, form a large portion of the New Testament. Most scholars believed that Paul was released from house arrest in Rome in c. 62 A.D., and that he may have made a fourth missionary journey, which may have gone as far as Spain (Rom 15:24,28). Church tradition says that Nero executed Paul in Rome c.67 A.D. However, the New Testament is silent on the death of this great Apostle.
The details of the martyrdoms of the disciples and Apostles are found in traditional early church sources. These traditions were recounted in the writings of the church fathers and the first official church historian Eusebius. Although we can not at this time verify every detail historically, the universal belief of the early Christian writers was that each of the apostles had faced martyrdom faithfully without denying their faith vin the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The Feel Good Church.
What Will Jesus do With The Church?
Blessed are those who realize their need for God....
I think we would all tend to believe that Jesus had hopes that we'd be communities who actually recognized our spiritual poverty and need for him. We have observed in church a reliance not on God but on high-tech power points, slick programs, video clips, fog machines, lights, amazing singers, inspiring sermons, and starbucks coffee. Would you consider that Jesus just might unplug the church and get back to what is really important - raw interactions with people, stories, questions, tangible life on life that requires absolutely nothing more than people and hearts.
This is not a condemnation of all churches, and I assure you that there are still some very fine churches whereby you receive a well thought-out sermon and 'true Gospel.' The problem is that these very fine churches are a minority and not the majority that Jesus expected.

CALLING 'EVIL' GOOD & GOOD 'EVIL:'
For many years, our society has embarked upon a journey intended to redefine values. We live in an age of rapidly changing concepts concerning numerous things, not the least of which is its moral standards. The degree of that change is almost beyond belief to those who remember societal values from forty years ago or more. The moral decay of our time is promoted in everything from education to entertainment. Moral depravity of every kind has been lauded in an attempt to make ungodliness the norm of conduct. Such activity has been represented as good, loving, wholesome, progressive, a right of freedom and part of a chic lifestyle. At the same time, every effort has been made to paint those living according to the righteous standards of God as evil, mean-spirited, unloving, old-fashion, judgemental, intolerant and the source of modern woes. The constant drone of this 40+ year propaganda campaign has had its effect in making immorality common.
When this country began, it was common to put one convicted of sexual activity outside of marriage in stocks as the object of public condemnation. Today, however, laws against such behavior are widely scorned even among most people professing to be religious. In the vast majority of states, it is no longer possible to specify adultry as the cause for a divorce due to the 'No-Fault' divorce laws in this country. It is truly incredible that our laws have gone from upholding moral standards to protecting those guilty of immorality in only a few generations!
Instead of such stastics causing concern, they are used by some to herald the progress of our society into a more 'broad-minded' enlightenment. Our humanistic media takes every opportunity to advance such activity. The television talk shows seem to leave no stone unturned in their search for more and more outlandishly promiscuous behavior which they urge us to accept. Homosexuality, adultry and every form of fornication are winked at and applauded in movies, songs and literature. Public schools are being used to inculcate this tolerance of ungodliness from the earliest grade levels. The redefinition of 'good' and 'evil' is progressing at an alarming rate.
ATTEMPTS AT REDEFINITION IN BIBLE TIMES:
In Israelite history, a similar attempt to redefine morality took place. God showed His lack of tolerance for such by saying, "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!" (Isa, 5:29).
God declared that He would not change the standard. Proverbs 17:15 gives the following warnings: "He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord."
Clearly, God is not swayed to accept or tolerate changes in His instruction regarding morality regardless of public or media opinion. He has always condemned sexual activity outside of marriage whether premarital or extramarital (Heb. 13:4; 1 Thess. 4:3-7; Cor. 6:15-20; Exod. 20:14; Lev.20:10-21; 18:20).
The problem with our age is that we have been deceived by the hummanist pitch which aims at reversing the moral standards commanded by God. They want us to believe it is moral to be immoral and immoral to be moral! The Bible urges us not to accept that lie.
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 "Do you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."
Ephesians 5:3-6 "But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints;... For this you know, that no formicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolator, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. Let no one deceive you with enpty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience."
Revelation 21:8 "But for the fearful, and unbelieving, and abominable, and murderers, and fornicators, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, their part shall be in the lake that burneth with fire and brimstone; which is the second death."
Those who claim to believe in God and the Bible as His word will reject modern attempts to redefine morality. Those who reject God and His word will one day stand before Him in judgement to answer for such opposition. Their sophisticated, progressive air will not sway the Almighty. His standard has been conclusively revealed in His word. It is not changed by attempts at human redefinition.

Ignoring the study of Biblical Prophecy means ignoring the study of a large part of the Bible.
YOU CANNOT STUDY SCRIPTURE WITHOUT STUDYING PROPHECY:
*Every fourth verse in the Scripture deals with prophecy.
*The coming of the Lord is a truth of such importance that it is mentioned 318 times in the 260 chapters of the NT (on average of once every 25 verses).
*The only subject mentioned more frequently than the second coming is the subject of salvation.
*Paul mentioned the communion ordinance only twice in his 13 epistles and baptism only 13 times, but he mentions the return of our Lord 50 times!
STUDYING PROPHECY:
Experience and history can aid in our study of prophecy. What we learn from historical accounts recorded in the Bible as well as the laws and commandments put forth throughout Scripture can help us better understand the prophetic parts of the Bible.
Historical accounts of the Bible can shed some light on prophecy in that we can see God working through particular circumstances to bring about future eventualities. Unlike any other book in the world, the Bible contains hundreds of fulfilled prophecies pertaining to cities, nations, empires, and individuals that can be verified in the historical record. The literal fulfillment of these prophecies demonstrates the accuracy of biblical prophecy, and it only makes sense that yet unfulfilled prophecy to be equally accurate.

Our Founding Fathers knew that the next step for a Democracy to take would be socialism.
Our Founding Fathers established America as a Constitutional Republic, a system where the U.S. Constitution is the supreme law and citizens elect representatives to government.
Democracy, by contrast, designates a system of government where the will of the majority rules, unrestricted by any law. The founders of the United States went to great measures to ensure that our new nation was not a democracy.
The Constitution was designed to preserve individual rights and to limit the power of the government to the protection of individual rights. The founders opposed unlimited majority rule, because they recognized that individual rights and liberty would be compromised by mob rule, that the will of the majority could be just as tyrannical as the will of a monarch. In short, they knew that just as monarchy did, so democracy would, lead to the infringement of individual rights.

Amazing Predator of Sheep, Goat & Deer Video.
I'm sure when were thinking of predators were most likely thinking of coyote, wolf, bobcat, and cougar. Here's another predator who is probably the most proficient hunter of them all, the 'Golden Eagle' found in the Southwest and in mountain areas. The Golden Eagle can have a wing span between 7 to 8 feet. He will weigh between 14 to 16 pounds. But here's the real kicker... he can carry (in flight) 3 times his own weight. So it's possible that he can carry close to 50 pounds.
The Golden Eagle preys on the yearlings in the Southwest mountain areas of whitetail deer, goat and sheep. The Golden Eagle is a pretty smart dude, if he finds a mature sheep or goat in a disadvantaged position high on a mountain side or cliff type area, he can easily knock this animal off letting it fall to it's death upon hitting the ground.
The Golden Eagle is only slightly larger than the American Bald Eagle. The main difference is that the Golden Eagle is a much more aggressive bird with a nasty disposition and fearless. The Southwest Indians were always weary of this bird as it could come down and pick up small children if they were unattended.
If you haven't seen this video before, this is about a 7 minute video of some amazing footage. This video was taped in the high mountains of Mexico, and narrated in Spanish.
