  1. I love an Ohio State fan talking about the SEC, last time I checked they hadn't won a game against any sec teams in forever. If I recall they did beat beat Arkansas a couple of years back, but due to being one of the dirtiest schools in the ncaa they had to forfeit. When a non SEC teams wins a title then we can talk about being overrated.

    broadheads

I'm a big two blade rage fan, I've killed my share of deer with them and never had an issue. However, I will not take a quartering to shot on a deer with any broadhead. Giving time most animals will present you with a broadside or slightly quartering away shot, as bowhunter I believe we owe it to are game to make the most ethical shot possible. This is just my opinion, and when it comes to broadheads you'll find lots of opinions. Good luck, and pick something that you have confidence in.

    cant see me papa

My parents always tell me that they wish they could have just went straight to grand kids and skipped having their own kids.......pretty sure that's directed at me, but they're getting back at me by sending my boys back all jacked up on mt. Dew and candy. Nothing like a couple of boys that haven't had any rules all weekend and come home on a caffeine high!
  4. Best bet would be to set up on him just like you did and work him just like you did, only thing I would do different is stay out longer. I have had alot of henned up gobblers that were almost impossible to kill, that is until the hen nested about 10 am. A lot of times when this happens that old gobbler will back track to the sweet little hen he heard that morning. Not a guarantee, but would stay on him between 10-1. If he gobbles between those hours, he's begging for a truck ride. Good luck!
  5. Always good to start the morning with a laugh, good one
  6. Looks like alot of work, but sure looks like a nice piece of property. I may be weird but I enjoy the work involved in having a good place to hunt. The thing that pisses me off is those people that claim there's nothing to killing deer on a PRIME spot, your not a good hunter if you kill a deer on a food plot or any of the other excuses people come up with. I wish the average person knew just how much effort it takes to have a prime spot. Sorry its a rainy Monday, I guess I'm kinda cranky today.
  7. Pretty deer for sure, heck of a job if its only your second mount. I'd be proud to have it and remember no ones harder on someones work than the person that did the work
  8. Only thing to say about that drive is awesome, I'd never make it to work, I still turn around to look at deer and that's daily! Consider yourself blessed.
  9. Wow, you did spend some money! Nothing prettier than a Turkey mount, it'll be worth it, Congrats on the birds
  10. From what I seen on your other thread, if you bow hunt that bird he has no chance! Good luck
  11. Sounds like you've got all kinds of new play things, new cross bow and a boat, sounds like a fun summer!
  12. Hate to be the one to break it to you, but they all suck and are way over priced! I have a DROID and I guess I'm happy with it ( other than the fact in rings all the time). I know you have to have one for job, so my best advice is to talk to some Co workers and find what is good in your area. Its funny because my wife has an iPhone, we both have Verizon, yet there's places were my phone gets out and hers doesn't and vise versa. After all that, all I can say for sure is that which ever phone/provider you chose will over charge you! Good Luck with the new job and the cell phone dilemma.

    arrows

Maximas are a great shaft, shot them for the past 3 years and very happy with them, they are a bit pricey but I believe the old you get what you pay for.
  14. Hope every thing comes out OK. Sorry couldn't resist that, Good luck.
  15. I'd have to say.... my Hoyt! Give up rifle hunting along time ago, but if I have to pick it would be my old Remington 30-06. Not that it shoots great, but it belonged to my grandpa and seeing that that's all I have left of him, its pretty dear to my heart. Not sure how old it is but he's been gone for around 40 years and I know he killed several deer with it. Kinda sappy but seeing my boys shoot it is pretty cool.
  16. I sure wish mine would hurry up and migrate back, I need to call one in for my son on the youth hunt next weekend and right now its slim picking. May have to just go buy one at Walmart, although the pictures never turn out very good that way.
  17. If you need someone to guard your camera on the 14th let me know, I sure hate for the mean old gobbler to mess with your camera like he did that hen! Truly great pics, good luck on the season.
  18. So that's what happened to all of my turkeys, I had wondered why we had so few birds around here now. I guess they migrated! Dang the luck.
  19. Hard to add much to that, truth is a good thing, even if it makes a few people mad
  20. This is a tough subject for me not to sound like a country redneck( which I may actually be), but our so called leaders seem to worry more about taking care of third world countries than our own great nation. The soldier that killed those innocent afghan people should go to trial on our soil not foreign and keep in mind how many "innocent afghan women and children" have turned out to be suicide bombers. I will hold judgment on OUR soldier until he is proven guilty. The terrorist that killed at fort hood, should have been shot on sight! He was not in harms way, no one was trying to kill him, and I'm sorry the whole insane BS just doesn't hold water. Sorry for the rant but we should take more pride in our soldiers and support them and most importantly never apologize to terrorist countries. On a good not my 9 year old did kill his first hog this weekend!
  21. I would go the used bow route to make sure you enjoy it, you should be able to get a good used bow for that price. You do need to have it set up by a good bow shop, a bow not fitted to you will make it tough to shot and enjoy. I'm a big fan of hoyt but most brands now days will get the job done. I will warn you, bowhunting is very addicting and you may get yourself completely wrapped up in it (not a bad thing, happens to a lot of us)
  22. Sounds like a great morning, Congrats!
  23. Great deer, congratulations!
  24. That's awesome, very jealous! We have a shortage of birds where I'm at.
