Gas prices going up again! On the up side, I bought my truck in 2009 when you could not give a truck away due to the jump in gas prices, and got a 43,000.00 truck for 24,000.00! Just can't afford to drive it anywhere

shot the new bow today- from 70 yds Yes, you can really tell when shooting from 50! Sure I can bullseye from 20 and 30 all day long, but I practice from 50 knowing when I get this down, the shorter shots are no problem!

410 pattern (pics) It doesn't say anything about it not being legal. Methods: The following are allowed during the spring firearms turkey hunting season: a shotgun with shot not larger than No. 4 a longbow or compound bow. Hand-held string releasing devices, illuminated sights, scopes and quick point sights are allowed. The following are prohibited: shotguns capable of holding more than 3 shells in magazine and chamber combined shot larger than No. 4 (in use or in possession) a bow fastened to a stock or other device that maintains the bow in a drawn position any sighting device that casts a beam of light on the game thermal imagery equipment or night vision equipment (in use or in possession) recorded calls (in use or in possession) use of dogs or live decoys use of bait, which includes grain or other feed placed or scattered so as to attract turkeys. An area is considered baited for 10 days even after complete removal of the bait. A hunter can be in violation even if he or she did not know an area was or is baited. It is illegal to place bait in a way that causes others to be in violation of the baiting rule. Voiding the Permit:

garden planted Nothing better than fresh tomatoes!

garden planted Where are the tomatoes and cucumbers? Strawberries? Watermelon? Squash? Okra? This is our second year attempt at gardening. Last years heat did not help us at all. Cooke the tomatoes on the vine. Great start on the garden! Hopefully the hard work pays off for you.

410 pattern (pics) With 20 pellets in the kill zone, I was quite impressed. I set the decoys at 10 yards outside the blind as well!

Patterned my sons 410 and was very surprised! Shot at 20 yards!

Mature deer wuestion Thanks for all the advise. I'm not new to hunting, but never had anyone who knew what they were doing teach me as I was growing up. It's all trial and error, heavy on the error, as I go! I got into bow hunting about 3 years ago and it consumes most of my time when not working now. I'm either practicing with my bow, checking or setting trail cams, she'd hunting or hunting from Sept 15- Jan 15. The advice is greatly appreciated. It's nice to bounce ideas off a couple avid hunters.

So I mowed a nice shooting lane in the next door vacant lot and graves my bow. Started out at 30 yds, then 40, 53 yards I was in the sidewalk, an then across the street in my neighbors yard for a few shots at 70 yards. I shot a lot from 53 yards and got my 5 shot groups down pretty well. 5 to 6" groups which for my first try at it, I thought was ok! I am loving the Alfa max!!! As you can see it is sighted in with the pink ones!

Mature deer wuestion They may look small in this pic, but all have around 20" main beams and the one in the center has a 11.5" G2. That is huge for this area. I would say the average deer shot around here is 110" and below!

Mature deer wuestion I honestly almost called the cops last year. I'm not much for getting ppl in trouble, but these guys did have to drive home and that is not safe. If I see them out there in that condition again the cops may get an anonymous tip to watch for them when they leave. Early season it is. Now what about moving the deer cane by my stand in this thick stuff? My early season pics are all over the deer cane. They love the stuff! Just not sure if I should move it or not. It has been in the same spot for two years, problem is that spot has been found by the other guys.
-
Mature deer wuestion That helps! I think you are right about them. I think they sit tight in the thick stuff that nobody goes in and watches the show from the drunks. I would if I were them! I think my best chance is early season like opening day. I put minerals down every year and they hit it hard. I thought about moving the minerals by my stand in thick cover. Also most pics were at night, but some were in the day. These are big deer for my area, not necessarily yours, but they are the best on the property and would be a true trophy to me. I'll get pics of them on here.

Custom turkey display solid wood- pics I have one on display at my barber shot and the local indoor gun range to drum up a little extra business.
-
Mature deer wuestion This might help. There are more than 10 acres on the property in woods, I just typically see the big ones just below the pin. It is the thickest here as have pics throughout the hunting season of them. I guess I will not cut in a trail, and will try and get a shot at the big boys early in the bow season when I'm the only one hunting.

Mature deer wuestion I have sheds and trail cam pics that say I do have big deer in here.

Mature deer wuestion The problem I have is it is not my land and other guys hunt it as well. These other guys will shoot anything that moves and not tag them in. The big boys get pressure from October which we have a for only season on. I went to hunt one day and found an old fart in his truck overlooking the it in front of my ladder stand. He was passed out drunk, do I backed out and went to sit in my blind. There I found an old man sitting right next to my blind smoking and drinking beer. So much for all the time I out in at my food plot and trying to be sent free. I only keep hunting it because there are 3 or 4 real nice bucks still in there

climbing stand Make sure it is light!!!!! If I were to buy again it this would be the number 1 thing I would look at. Remember you'll likely have your stand, day pack, and bow or gun and all these things add up. I have climbed many of hills loaded down with all these things and nearly left the stand on the tree on the way home it was so bad!

So last year I shot a turkey with my bow and went to find a display for it. The best I could find was the beard collector. I purchased this one and got home to fun out it wasn't even solid wood and cost over 30.00. After returning the beard collector, I went to lowes and purchased some lumber and wet to the garage to sketch out the new mount. I was very pleased with the display, but knew I could do better. After several prototypes, what you see is what the display has evolved into. I am offering these for sale for $30.90. This price is for poplar or similar wood and your choice of stain. Other wood is available such as oak, cedar,, and exotic woods like zebra wood for additional charges. Email if you have any questions. [email protected]

I know where the big boys stay, the problem is it is the thickest stuff you've ever seen an they have numerous different trails to get from A to B! The property is 80 acres with 60 or so grass. The thick woods they stay in is about 100 yard wide and 500 yards long. I thought about cutting a 3' wide trail right through the center wih a small 20'x20 food plot nearby my stands. My question is will this push the big boys out, it will the stay in there and utilize my trails?
