I was walking through the cedar glade tonight when I saw him laid up under a tree. He saw me and jumped and ran down the ridge a ways. I stalked very slowly and quietly down the ridge and got to within 25 yards before I could find a small shooting lane. I shot high and he bolted again. I stalked him again and again got about 25 yards away before I could find a shooting lane. It was very brushy. I shot again and hit him high in the neck, and he dropped like a sack of taters. I'd hit him in the spine. I walked up and put one more arrow into his chest and he died. This is my first deer with a bow! He has 5 points because one of his antlers was broken off right above the brow tine. I'm usually a better shot than this. I guess buck fever got me!
