Are does respondent to other does scent? If a doe picks up a does scent do they check it out or do they even care. Is it even worth using scent prior rut?

I bought this Gorilla climber and I basically bought it for comfort. Today I hunted out of it and I just wasn't feeling it! I don't know what it was about it...I guess the first thing which came to mind was I felt really restricted. I ended up getting down and went to another spot where I have a hang on stand and I felt fine. I don't know maybe it was just how I was feeling or maybe I don't trust it.... Don't l know!!!

All I have to say is if you don't have ...go get one! I got ate alive the other day so I finally broke down and bought one. It is perfect for early season when mosquitos are out. Worked wonders today.... I am a believer now!!!

Well as I was getting out of my truck to head in to the blind I took notice the wind was blowing bad for that blind. I have a tree pruned up about 100 yards away which the wind was perfect for. But no I decided to grab my little hunting chair and hunker down in the brush opposite of the blind. Wouldn't you know it 2 big does walked right up behind me from where I pruned that tree. If I would have been in my climber I would have a doe tonight. But oh well I learned a little. Took notice of time trying to get patterns down. There is always tomorrow!

First day of deer season is over in Ohio. Did not see anything but a turkey...if I was hunting turkey deer would have showed up. A lot of fresh tracks and I believe I found a scrape. I covered it back up and I am going to check on it later. It was nice just to sit and listen to the wind and woods

fabric softeners I don't think there is a need... It just came in the kit. And I cannot find them on the shelves any where. Plus that I live in the city an I am afraid to hang dry them because of the pollution. smell like car exhaust on me when I am out in the country that is why I use so much scent away

Ok I bought the scent away kit a while back and used it while scouting and such. I went an bought the things I used the most separately. So my next question is concerning the scent away fabric softeners. Does it serve a different purpose besides softening your clothiers or does it aid in taking out scent some how. Can one use scent free fabric softener or is it worth using it at all?

cornfields I can't do much til Saturday. Season isn't in til then! But there has been activity around the stand and the blind. They have primarily been movin about 2 to 3 rows in going from point to point. I was figuring they would move their bedding area from the corn to the wood line near my stand which might be what they are doing. This is my first time hunting a cornfield.

How much does it affect the deer after a farmer takes the corn off? I was in my climber just hanging out when a combine went strolling by taking the corn down. One thing for sure is it was easier to walk back to the truck!

your hunting buddy Well that was another issue was with the properties on one side of us. The are we are hunting is surrounded by cornfield. And there is or at least was at the time I was sitting in the stand noticed just how much activity was going on on each side of us! But I planned on talking to my buddy today about it. Like I said we share two different properties and maybe just alternate spots. He is a smart cookie I think he will get what I am saying!

I got a hunting buddy who I share land with. But my question is how big of an area would one suggest two people can hunt at one time. The area we hunt is somewhat big, just weirdly shaped and I think it compromises our efforts. Something just doesn't feel right with the way we are set up! I don't know maybe I am over thinking things!

wish i was rich Yeah we canvass for time off the year before. I made sure I had the first 5 days off do I didnt have to worry about it! I think I would come down with some type of itis!

food plot mix I know I used a poor choice words to give this post a heading, but it was brought to my attention what I did was bait and not a plot! But isn't a plot just a bigger bait that you plant? I mean my little 40lbs of sunflower seeds and corn is a very little bait pile compared to an acre or more of clover or what ever one desires to plant as bait! But sorry for the terminology misuse! Both are used keep deer healthy and to bring onto the area an keep in the area...right?

I sat in the stand today for about 3 hours just watching and listening. It was relaxing and just to get away from humans was priceless! It was a comfortable sit and with deer season starting in about 2 weeks or so and I am so ready!

food plot mix Sorry poor choice of words! Your right it is bait...just trying to catch something on trail camera. Speaking of bait... Think about putting up a gravity feeder for when it gets cold and food becomes hard to find!

Does rain and humidity increase or decrease your scent. Sounds dumb but as I was sitting in stand the humidity went up. How does this affect scent?

My buddy told me about this corn molasses black sunflower seed mix. I told another buddy what I bought and with a quizzical look said "deer eat sunflower seeds?" I thought why not. So I got this blend because it was mixed in molasses. So what are some other good blends?

rattling racks drop was maybe the wrong word. i simply lift them of the ground a little bit. i'm not dumping them off the edge of my stand or anything like that. lol Yeah it was pure sarcasm. Lol

rattling racks I dropped something the other day from my bow rope and figure I would kill a deer by means of heart attack with all the noise! How would I explain that to a game warden?

how to I went and put it up today. I ended up not using camo duct tape, instead I went to the local fabric store and bought some real tree ap camo and stapled it. As I was sitting in the treestand it seemed like it needed support in the front. So I think one or two braces might be needed. Nothing more than 3 ft pieces which is grooved at top and bottom to fit in bottom platform. I plan on just going out and sitting in the stand to observe the area. I will take picks then and post them.

how to I just finished making it! Not too bad it is 30x26! Now I just have to wrap it in camo tape!

crossbow broadheads?? Any muzzy works!!!
