My first deer with a bow was a Doe. i was walking back to the truck after the morning hunt down the edge of a hay field. the doe stepped out of the woods into the field and i lost sight of her in the tall hay. i stepped into the woods and got ready just in case she came back into the woods. i was waiting what seemed to be 30 minutes but was really only 5-10 min when i hurt a stick break behind me in the woods. when i turned there was another doe standing behind a tree about 20 yards away. when she stepped out i had the perfect broadside shot. i hit her a little far back so i let her go for 2 hours and went and got my dad before we went to look for her. we found her 150 yards from where i had shot with my arrow broke off inside her. never found the other half of it.

Need prayers Update: dad is doing better after surgery and a few days rest. H was up and walking around the hospital this morning.

My long time hunting partner and best friend (my dad) had a heart attack yesterday he is in rough shape and needs alot of help.

He has my attention now. Still a couple months of growing to go we will see how he turns out.

3 more months to go in NY. picking up the new bow tomorrow, then its time to start practicing, and hanging the stands back out. alot of work to be done in 3 months.

Ive been out in the woods scouting new stand sites and checking trail cams. got a few nice one on cam. will post pics tomorrow.

finally got out in the woods after dealing with the hurricane clean up in NY. havent seen much for movement. a few does and a small 6 point is all i have seen. will be back out next week to try again.

Doesnt look like i will be in the woods for a few weeks will all the damage in New York from Hurrican Sandy. Duty calls and i serve my nation and state before i get to play.

have been seeing alot of deer movement right before dark on my way home from work the past few days. going to be in the stand friday and saturday. looking at a warm up for the weekend. hope the movement is as active as it has been the past week.

Team 8 - The Latecomers Very little movement. Been in the stand 8 days and only saw 5 deer. Been pretty slow so far.

was in the low 20's friday night in Norther NY. had a little blowing snow saturday morning but only lasted for 5 min.

Spent 5 days in the stand from thursday till last night. saw alot of deer movement but only had one little Fawn come within bow range. will be back out at it this saturday.
