  1. Co. bill to ban shotguns? Glad I decided not to take the fire department test for Colorado Springs..
  2. tips for a new hunter? Everyone has posted everything I would say...most of all have fun and enjoy every aspect of nature and never take it for granted
  3. Pass through? I've pulled out mushroomed bullets from a 30-06 in the shoulder fat of a hog...I would say its easier to pass through a deer hands down.
  4. Going to Texas to deer and pig hunt Hopefully you get to hunt down south where the deer are big and the pigs are plentiful! Best of luck!
  5. I live in imperial beach and am trying to get my bow restrung and a D-loop and peep sight put in, but don't know of anywhere in San Diego and was hoping someone would??? Thanks.
  6. Scent Lok vs. Under Armour If your so worried about your scent just play the wind, I've hardly used any scent cover excluding spraying my self down before I walk into my hunting area and have had deer at arms distance before, it's all just luck in the long run. People back in the day didn't have anything except burning foliage and walking through the smoke and they did just fine.
  7. Gun owners. Link of article talked about in my last post... http://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2012/aug/7/the-civil-war-of-2016/
  8. Gun owners. Have y'all read the article the Washington post posted about the tea party battle in 2016??..I forget the name but if you google Washington post 2016 it comes up. It's a good read.
  9. Hunting time poll. Before I joined the military about 40 or 50...now, lucky if its once...
  10. Gun owners. I'm goin back to Texas where I'll be safe...

    ouch

ouch Been there plenty of times in south Texas, everything sticks or stings down there..no fun
  12. Found him again I would guess 4.5, like said above he doesn't have any sway in his back. Also he doesn't have a pot belly. I can't see his snout, you said you had different pictures from another camera? If so just look for a bump on it. Either way, it's a nice buck.
  13. Help me name this buck! If he was a 10 pointer last season I would let him live and see if it gets fixed before next season, but if he was injured it could be permanent. Either way, it's meat in the fridge!
  14. Too windy...Too warm Biggest buck I have killed to date was on October 15, 2011 during the "October lull" (keep in mind it is a PA buck). Temps in the upper 50's, low 60's. Winds 20-40 mph with insane gusts. (I was praying while I was in the stand a few times lol). Dad thought I was a little crazy to head out but you can't kill them on the couch! That a nice buck, I'm gonna be hunting on the PA Maryland border next month for the first time, I've only hunted in Texas. It's gonna be different but fun.
  15. Too windy...Too warm Biggest deer I've ever seen shot was by my brother, it was 80 that afternoon and low was around 50, normal south Texas weather. It's all about you being at the right place at the right time, never know when that big boy is gonna walk out.
