  1. 6.5 swede, 47 grs imr 4955 ,lapua case , 129 gr Hornady SP, rem 9 1/2 primer, OACL as per Hornady #9.

I tested some 4 thieves as a cover on a crisp, almost breeze free morning to get my set up. it had the mature does and youngsters nose twitching and licking they never snorted when i rustled leaves by accident again nose and licking. they stayed grazing in the oat field until they walked into the willows about 9 am. That is just one test , get a wiley 6 or 7 yr old buck it might be a different outcome.
  3. Just seen a south bound flock of high flyers they were Canada geese.
  4. It's been so darn warm here the deer just not moving at all. There is to much high energy forage in the bush. The only thing that is on the does is small 2 & 3 yr old, the good thing, below freezing by weekend. Should pick up with cooler weather.

  7. Yes, I have used a gel doe in estrus made by Tinks worked fairly well, but can't find it here any more. Yah know it's going to work when it tests your gag reflex. lol That is why I liked it.
  8. There is still lots in this area, seen about 2500 in four different flocks. Way to warm here, even deer are staying put.
  9. Bought some Buckbomb 2 cans to precise, the doe in estrus works great, but the dominant buck sprayed about 5 seconds then almost quit tried every thing to get it to work warmed it up nope, give it a shake no, anybody else having this problem?
  10. Went into new area this morning, asked the landowner for permission. He is having problems with coyotes and wolves taking out his cattle. I was told if I could bring him one or the other I could hunt, 3 hrs later knocked on his door with a wolf on my endgate give it to the farmer and I got a new place to hunt all thanks to my Primos good product so is Foxpro, it just depends on what you want spend.

  17. Ok here it is for the swede, once fired neck sized lapua case, 46 grs H- 4350 rem 9 1/2 primer 120 Nosler BT oacl of 3.000. Now my 300 Wby mark v, 79 grs imr 4955 under a 168 e-tip ,215 federal primer ,oacl of 3.500, Wby case once fired neck sized, both cases trimmed to minimum length.

  19. In a pinch you can try febreze natural no scent it works on skitters may work on deer.
  20. I agree with wtn as well as hoosier, 3.5 - 5.5 yrs older deer are chunkier , but i also see where it could be showing signs of extra white on what muzzle you do see and maybe a little more white around his eyes.
  21. We have had 2 dumps of the white stuff for total of 5", which is just about gone. I just had to hit the cut lines out west in the foothills 6 does all with fawn,took the .22 we got 5 grouse not a total loss. That is probably it till November 1 for now .
  22. It's snowing in places along the eastern slopes of the rockies here in Alberta every time I listen to the forcast . Grande Cache, Banff,Jasper, Nordegg, and points in between all have gotten some it's coming, the old man.
  23. The other day was back at the range, IMR 4955 under a 129 gr Hornady spire with groups around .75 to .80 moa @ 100 yds . Yes indeed it does do as advertised less copper fouling and cleaner burning. I can't wait to see if it is temperature insensitive. This is in my 6.5x55 se
  24. There was a big sale here a month ago picked up 2 Grohmann belt knives for just over half the retail cost, just waiting to give them a try this fall.
