BuckNrut
I remember reading posts on this last fall. At the time, only target shooting was allowed at the site. The actual hunting part was still in developement. Still, for me, this is going too far for sportsmanship. I can see some potential for commercial use though. Norm Sauceman
Re: has any one seen this? I agree, I am not sure I really like this. Even as an advocate for disabled hunters this is going a bit too far. While I agree we should do most anything to help our disabled brothers and sisters, this is taking the outdoor element completely out of the mix. Guest bronco_mudder
Re: has any one seen this? I don't agree with the idea of hunting from a computer either. Where do we draw the line, and say what is ethical, people will always have differring oppinions. Look at muzzleloading. I personally hunt with a T/C Omega, and feel that I am muzzleloading. In areas it would be illegal, like stated in the article, but to me that hunt is different. I look at a hunt under those conditions as a primitive hunt, and that is great, but as long as it loads from that muzzle it is still technically muzzleloading, at least in my oppinion. Other areas don't allow hunting with electronic calls, and/or decoys. These are personal decisions one has to make, of course you must also stay within the law, but a decoy with rotating wings, or a recorded call being played, is it really giving that much of an advantage. I don't use either, but only because I don't hunt in situations that I feel it would benefit me. With all the decoys on the market, you can get them that you may have manually, but it still should give the same general effect. As well with the multitude of different calls available, I feel that if the time is taken to learn to use them properly, thats all that is required, but with the electronic calls it gives the advantage of having the sound be remote from the hunter. Everybody has to make their own decision on what they feel is ethical, I don't like someone else telling me what right and what is wrong. So do what suits you best, but stay within the law, and try not to look down on people for their choices, just enjoy your own.
slugshooter
Re: has any one seen this? [ QUOTE ] more anti hunter propaganda [/ QUOTE ] Thats not anti-hunter propaganda, the guy who started this live shot web site is a jack **** and an even bigger one if he continues with his plan to start letting people shoot live animals from the comforts of home. All he did was make us all look bad and gave plenty of fuel for the anti groups to burn us with.
Guest beardsNspurs
Re: has any one seen this? How would ya like to be the guy sittin in the blind with the gun? Ya sit there all day and a trophy walks up and then the 30.06 beside you starts moving on its own...then fires on its own?? And what happens when the computer mal-functions and the gun shoots the poor guy. I just can't fathom this one. I understand people from 100 years ago can't fathom us being able to sit here and chat with others thousands of miles away either....but high powered rifles aren't toys. wtnhunt
Re: has any one seen this? This has come up in here several times over the past year or so. Live shots from what I understand is doing the target shooting only, but the shooting at live animals was a consideration. From the sounds of this article Texas will have to pass legislation to stop the owner from firing on live targets. I personally dont think this is in any way right or ethical. johnf
Re: has any one seen this? I have seen lots of shows where the hadicaped hunt from a ground blind or the back of a truck. If you want to hunt, go to where the animals are and shoot them yourself.
elkoholic
Re: has any one seen this? Sorry state of affairs, is the only thing I can think of. We as human being will continue to stoop to new lows in our efforts to make money and experience life without really living. Take a pill, shoot up some drugs, live life through a computer, you name it, we are becoming disgusting. This type of crap in no way enables the disabled to "experience" hunting. Man, I just can't wait until someone developes something (a pill maybe) that allows me to lay in bed all day and "experience" all that life has to offer. NOT!
