Kevo72
I have friend who thinks I am totally crazy because I think when it is too warm and too windy it is pretty useless to hunt. When I do go like I did last night, the wind was blowing around 20 mph and it was 75 to 80 degrees out. I do not hunt from a stand during windy conditions so I just take my stool and plop down some where and watch chipmunks do their thing. So my question is...is it useless to hunt during these conditions? Might I add my buddy will hunt during a freaking hurricane if that doesn't tell you something about him! Tominator
Biggest deer I ever shot, October 12, 2008. 78 degrees, full moon, calm winds. My motto: if you have time to hunt, and want to hunt, hunt. Don't worry about what others tell you or feel.
layin on the smackdown
I hung a stand around noon yesterday in these 80 degree temps and hurricane force winds, then hunted a different stand in the evening. When its late October and you have a massive cold front knocking at your door, you better be heading to the woods! dan

kpdaly85
Too windy...Too warm Biggest deer I've ever seen shot was by my brother, it was 80 that afternoon and low was around 50, normal south Texas weather. It's all about you being at the right place at the right time, never know when that big boy is gonna walk out.
hoosierhunter
Too windy...Too warm Everyone says hunt but in reality most of us pass up those days 90% of the time. Starting this weekend is when temps don't matter you just hunt.
PriceRacing35
Too windy...Too warm Wind chill of 29 degrees. Stiff north wind. Cloudy. This morning, only saw 2 deer. One 5pt and a little doe. The buck was pushing the doe all over the place. I'm guessing she wasn't quite ready because he lost interest and worked the timber edge and made rubs and scrapes the whole way. Came to 15 yards. Besides the wind, this morning was perfect. Kevo72
Too windy...Too warm I hunt depending on how I feel. Like right now it is probably upper 40s and raining and I am thinking about going. And it don't look like the rain is going to end for a few hours... Probably still be rain after dark. I do want to know what is goin on during the different conditions where I hunt!
ChrisSeb53
Biggest buck I have killed to date was on October 15, 2011 during the "October lull" (keep in mind it is a PA buck). Temps in the upper 50's, low 60's. Winds 20-40 mph with insane gusts. (I was praying while I was in the stand a few times lol). Dad thought I was a little crazy to head out but you can't kill them on the couch! Edited October 26, 2012 by ChrisSeb53

That a nice buck, I'm gonna be hunting on the PA Maryland border next month for the first time, I've only hunted in Texas. It's gonna be different but fun.
