Muff
Well today I would have to say is the first time I was really scared at a fire....we did not have alot of guys and I was on the hose....a garage that was burning but could not get enough oxygen to get going....well we opened the door and it took off, I went in......main flame went up and I hit it....soon as I did I knew it was a gas fire.....all I could think is I am standing 15 feet away from a burning fuel that I dont know what it is....anyway I set the hose on a wide fog and took it down....we save most everything that was in the garage even the BMW....lol

LETMGROW
I would edit the LOL out. I have been there. You never know what you face in a residential fire. We used to tour every large business bldg. in our town to familiurize ourselves with the layout. This is not possible in a home setting. You don't know if there is one or a dozen gas cans under that bench. How hot have they gotten. This is one instance where fog is your friend. Keep the flame and heat away from you. Any idea what started the fire? Lynn

Muff
Did you have RIT in place? Curious since you state that you were short on guys. We only had 4 guys in gear....all the rest were just guys that showed up to help out.
PotashRLS
Wow, you are right, that is short on people. What if you had been blown back from a more potent explosion? Mutual aid on the way for manpower?
