Guest kracey
I patterend my Winchester 1300 today with (#6 Federal Flite Conrtol 3 Inch shells)... I was getting b/w 15-23 kill hits every shot. My question I bought The flite control with #5 shot. Should I shoot them or just stick with the #6 shells... I am happy with the results of the #6 and feel there is no need to shoot the #5. But I thought I'd get some other opinions
Strut10
Re: Should I continue patterning? Try the #5's. The 870 Turkey that the Mrs. shoots will pattern #5's with nearly the same density as #6's. So she shoots #5's. No use in not having the extra "oomph" if the densities are similar. You'll never know 'til you try.
Fullfan
Re: Should I continue patterning? I have found that the #6 run out of punch after 35 yds,not saying I have not killed gobblers at that range. But when I would get to them they after the shot they were blinking and looking around. The larger shot has less of a pattern but hits harder.
