535hunter
Last week the wife and i got aprroved for a home loan. Its our first home that will actually be our own. Rented for to long now its tike to buy!!! We have an appointment Wednesday with a realtor to view 5 homes. Extremely excited. I remember this past hunting season and on the eve of opening night I so excited I seriously couldn't sleep. Same feeling here. It can't come soon enough. Crossing our finger one of the 5 is the one for us and our youngster. All fit in our budget so its looking good. Trevor
I remember those day I was excited and scared at the same time. Buying a house is such a great feeling to own your own piece of real estate. Good luck and have fun.
dbHunterNY
if you're looking at 5 then don't worry if you don't find what you're looking for. my now wife and i looked at dozens. not very picky either it's just in our price range we could look at nicer smaller homes or bigger homes in need of remodeling or repair. we got put on the MLS list server and was sent everything in any school district we'd be ok with. weeded through every one. first looked at price and location. then pulled it up on google earth. then setup to look at it. driving by during normal hours when you'd be home, to check out the neighborhood and stuff is important too. dbHunterNY
other places the market tanked where as here in the capitol region of NY it didn't change much at all despite what realtors would tell us. made it difficult but we were and still are happy with our (at the time my) purchase. stevebeilgard
don't get so excited you "settle" for a home. wait for the right one. here's another option: look at the bank forclosure homes in the paper. they all have addresses. drive by. if you are interested in a home, knock on the door and ask to see it. if you like it, see what they owe on it and talk with the bank forclosing about a short sale. you will get the home way cheap and maybe even have a few thousand left for the seller, who would rather you have it than have it forclosed. a win - win deal for you, the seller, and the bank. once you find the right home and willing bank, USE AN ATTORNEY to protect your interests. another couple grand but still much cheaper than a realtor. just another option for you.
