One of Colorado’sicon1.png most popular standard shotguns would be banned under a bill making its way through the state Capitol.State Sen. Greg Brophy, a Republican, said a pump or semi-automatic shotgun — the gun most hunters use in Colorado — could be banned under a bill that’s already passed the state House. Gov. John Hickenlooper said he will sign the ban, CBS Denvericon1.png reports.SPECIAL COVERAGE: Second Amendment and Gun Control“They’re coming after the standard shotgun,” Mr. Brophy told CBS. “Hundreds of thousands of pheasant hunters are probably going to be carrying around a gun they won’t be able to replace after July 1 this year.”The bill would limit high-capacity magazines, as well as guns that are readily capableicon1.png of being altered for high-capacity magazines.“This is where shotgun shells go inside this tube here,” Mr. Brophy demonstrated. “You can screw this part off the top and screw on an extender to this tube to allow it to hold more than eight rounds. It is readily convertible, which by definition in the bill, makes the whole thing a high-capacity magazine.”“I don’t know if anybody is going to make guns specifically for the five million people living in Colorado,” he said. “We just might not be able to legally purchase a pump shotgun or a semi-automatic shotgun.”The lawmaker said that current owners of the shotgun will be able to keep it, but it has to remain in their continuous possession. They can’t bring it to a gunsmith to get fixed or even lend it down to their sons or daughters.Seven gun bills are up for hearings in the Senate on Monday, CBS reports.

The idea of trying to ban certain guns, high capacity mags, and all that really does irk me. However, what is really starting to piss me off even more is all the time politicians are wasting trying to push this crap through, when they could be using their time to address more pressing issues. If they would put this much effort and time into trying to fix the real problems, this country would be alot better off. I mean really come on, this is stupid.

I sure agree with you on wasting time. The king won't allow anymore visits from the public in the White House, he says due to the recent cuts, but you can be dam sure he won't miss a golf outing . :hammer1: I hope the elected officials that are part of this stupid laws face their voters come time.

I told you so!

I hate this term but I am going to use it here. When I said in a previous post "coming to a state near you" I wasn't just blowing smoke somewhere.

Get involved now. Contact your legislators and tell them you don't want any new laws introduced on the heels of a tragic event. Tell them you support serious crime control which has nothing to do with any form of new gun laws. NY got blind sided by an overly zealos governor who has aspirations of running for president. Don't let this happen by waiting for bills to be drawn up. Hold them accountable before they don't count you.

I am quite suprised about Colorado...But then again...The media is force feeding fake facts and polls down the publics throat. Leading everyone who reads it to believe that the majority of this nation is for the draconian laws.

Zombies coming to a town near you!
