wtnhunt
Not had a lot of luck with rattling here. Have only had a few smaller bucks come in. Think the best was with real antlers clicking together like a sparring sequence, had 2.5 year old 6 come in. Better luck with grunting. arrow32
Ive had mixed results with rattling around here. Ivr had no luck at all and I've had cases where they have come flying in to investigate. Just depends on the deer really. Sach deer is different I think. Straight Shooter
I've had good success with it down south and up north. Even better with the Can and a grunt tube combined.
buckblaster1
I have good luck with rattling. It not only works, but is fun to do. I love getting bucks to investigate. I shot my second biggest buck a couple years ago rattling after I heard him making a scrap. He came in, but wasn't close enough and headed back to his scrap. I started rattling again and that's the end of the story :-)
MUDRUNNER
Not had a lot of luck with rattling here. Have only had a few smaller bucks come in. Think the best was with real antlers clicking together like a sparring sequence, had 2.5 year old 6 come in. Better luck with grunting. Same here. I usually don't rattle much unless it's really slow just to try and get things going. Majority of the time I get nothing. Bleating and grunting have been my best calling tactics. DamonZ8
I've rattled a few bucks in over the years here in Ohio. We always seem to have a balanced herd and that brings a strong rut with aggressive bucks. When I lived in PA in the 80's and 90's it didn't work that well, too high of a doe to buck ratio back then. I use the original Pack Rack and it works great.
