huntn4bucks
Re: New Guitar I have several guitars...a G-Series Takamine, a Yamaha acoustic, and a Peavey HP Signature series electric. I've been playing since I was about 10 years old and play just about any kind of music. Here's a pic of what the Takamine and the Peavey looks like:
DSGB
Re: New Guitar That's a great song! Actually, any Tom Petty song is great! I've always wanted to learn to play, just never got around to it. My brother plays, but I wouldn't call it music. LOL He plays mostly drop D. What kind of guitar do you have? Jeramie
Re: New Guitar Ive been playing for 12-13 years (or somewhere in there). I have 4-guitars. I have one pulled apart for upgrades its a G&S. I also have an old Silvertone with the lipstick case pic ups. That critter is bluesey! My electric is a Strat with custom pic ups. I love that guitar. I just wish the neck was a little fatter. Ive had it for roughly 9 years. I may very well upgrade the neck soon. My accoustic is a Honer. Its a beautiful guitar. I played a Takamine, Gibson, and a Ibanez when I was shopping for a new accoustic and this tone has them beat hands down. It sounds really beautiful. It has an active eq with a noise gate so it sounds great plugged in too. Im playing through two different amps right now. My home rig is a Crate 60w, 2-channel. Its fine for the house. Last summer I bought a Behringer V-Tone 2x12 combo (100watt). It has 99-presets and a ton of other things such as Midi out's foot switches, etc. It also had tone switches for the speakers and a built in tunner thats actually pretty accurate! Its at the church right now. I love that amp.... I couldnt have gotten any better of a deal for $300! Ill try to get some pics on this evening. HarvDog
Re: New Guitar I've got a no-name 6 string acoustic that I've had since I was 16 and a 12 string Takamine electric acoustic that I absolutely love. I haven't had alot of opportunity to play much lately but I was just telling my wife how much I miss it and want to start again. So iowahunter...now that you've learned a song...I think you should teach the other guitar players out here.

JimPic
Re: New Guitar I play a little-actually I play everyday.I mostly play my Gibson SG Special. Also have a Squier Strat and recently picked up a Fender Fat Strat(2 single coils/1 humbucker).Love the neck on it but I always seem to go for the volume knob-great sound on the neck pu though. My acoustic is an Ovation Celebrity-real nice guitar but I'd love to get a Taylor. My next investment is a Marshall AVT series half-stack in a couple of weeks. Beautiful top on that Peavy,huntn4bucks! Jeremy, what pu's did you get for your Strat?I was thinking of putting some aftermarket pu's on my Strat-leaning towards Seymour Duncan.
