im your huckleberry
After the harsh winters we have have over the past 3 or 4 years with deep snow, i am still seeing deer when i am working my night shift. There is lots of does with twins, a few small bucks, one fairly descent i would guess 3.5 yr old nice wide starting get some mass, boy i would like to see his daddy 8 point, but what a bummer i'm working in Saskatchewan and that's where these guys are, besides there is some of those in Alberta. This is in the Glaslyn area of that province, i will keep you posted on different areas i travel in just in case any of you were planning a trip into Saskatchewan ( in about 12 days, i'm enjoying days off.) im your huckleberry
Well i'm back, here we go Spruce Lake, Turtleford, Edam, and Mervin Saskatchewan areas. Whitetails are very nervous they here a vehicle and they are already on high alert, this is the same for Mule. On my travels Edam, Mervin seem to have the most Whitetails, if you are lucky enough to get a Mule license there is a old sly buck that by the look of him running he has put the slip on a few hunters. This Mule when i first saw him has shaggy long fur on his front shoulders kind of like elk get, great big body probably about 25 to 50 lbs over average weight, the Spanish have a name for him Muy Grande. West of Edam there is a wall hanger 10 point Whitetail, this feller jumped out in front of me and darn near got run over by a t 800 Kenworth, but i stopped in time, all i could do is salivate like a dog in a butcher shop and watch him run away.
