Palssonater
Re: Michelin Tweel I hope that last picture was taken by a highspeed camera. If it was taken with him just parked there, I can only imagine what would happen if he hit it with any type of force. They would never survive here in Winnipeg. Pothol capital of Canada. carbonhunter
Re: Michelin Tweel just wait till those open areas get clogged with mud, sticks and gravel.
birddog
Re: Michelin Tweel You can put those on the fancy hybreds that are best run in the city: Going under 20 mph! I put them on my truck, and we'll see how they hold up! Can you imagine them on busting through a 3 foot drift, making it onto the ice to fish? Geesh..... JimT
Re: Michelin Tweel I think they are pretty cool looking. I can see them on a sportscar, but not on a work truck. Looks like the future is here for sure. How much are they? Huge money I bet.
buckee
Re: Michelin Tweel [ QUOTE ] Looks like the front end of an old, old tractor. [/ QUOTE ] That's the first thing I thought of too. A real step back in time, without the rigidity... eh. is rigidity a word??...LOL

fisherguy
Re: Michelin Tweel I watched a program about those on the discovery channel. From the sounds of it at this point their focus is for light cars and vehicles that stay one pavement. They actually perform better than regular tires for typical driving because They can deform to allow better traction if you lay on the brakes. huntn4bucks
Re: Michelin Tweel My tires are hard enough to keep clean as it is...those things would be terrible!!!
Ohiobucks
Re: Michelin Tweel Use that concept, but put sidewalls on them as well to keep out mud, gravel, sticks, small pets, etc. They would look like regular tires, but without relying on air pressure. YOU KNOW as well as I do they can come up with something better than a piece of rubber that holds air.........
