hangunnr
Came across this old truck while out on a nature walk today. I was easily a mile from the nearest road, and well back into the woods. Gotta wonder just what this things history is. Does anyone have any guess as to what make or year this might be? I couldn't find any markings on it. hangunnr
IowaDeerHunter
Re: Check this out Wow that is very interesting there hangunnr. It really makes yiou wonder what happened to it. I have no idea about a year or model though?
HeviShot
Re: Check this out It either fell off the ARK or got stuck a bunch of years ago in that little creek.
OJR
Re: Check this out I can remember seeing a vent like that on something, but I don't remember what it was! The way the uprights for the windshield are placed, it looks like an old Model T Ford! Was there another seat behind the one we can see or what is that behind the seat? It has probably been there since the road was just a trail! Interesting!!

tedicast
Re: Check this out One of the State Forests near my house has a few older cars, guessing from the 30's in places that defy explanation. If only they could talk!

buckee
Re: Check this out Old vehicles in the woods are cool. We have one old truck in the bush on a piece of property we hunt and there are about six old cars way back in the bush on the adjacent property. It's always a cool find. hangunnr
Re: Check this out Ya know GW, I was gonna make a wise crack about this vehicle being close to 80 years old and still having less rust than your truck........ ........but I didn't want to hurt your feelings so I won't say it...... hangunnr

slugshooter
Re: Check this out Just think, that could have been an old getaway car from one of those old gangsters like Dillinger or Capone. I noticed your bio where it said you were from NW Indiana. I don't know how close you are to Gary and the Chicago area, all I could think of when I saw that car in such an out of the way place was someone might have dumped that there after a getaway decades ago. I found an old 60's era Pontiac hubcap in the woods out back about a year o so ago, and there is the top part of an old car back there also, old as in 1940's old. Wish I could extract it and figure out what type of car it came off of, part of it is in the ground.
Tominator
Re: Check this out Man, that's cool. I love finding old stuff like that, and wondering what the story is. Who knows? When I find stuff like that, I just like to sit down and think/ponder what life was like back then. I like sitting so much it probably bugs my buddy Tom nuts. I sat in an old cemetary for 5 or 10 minutes last year while we were shed hunting. I could have stayed there another 1/2 hour, but I think Tom would have rolled me down the hill by then. NS whitetail
Re: Check this out pretty cool find it is really hard to imagine that someone was driving that one day ( they will be saying that about Rusty in a couple of years too, won't they Gary )
