longislandhunter Posted March 29, 2005 Report Share Posted March 29, 2005 Re: anyone There is a state park near my home that years ago used to be a private hunting club that was stocked with Japanese "Sika" deer. The herd has thrived over the years and there are a few wooded areas outside the park that these deer frequent when foraging for food. They can be hunted 365 days a year, with no bag limit, since they are not a native NY (or US)species. I hunt for them periodically but haven't been out for them recently due to work, but as soon as time permits I plan on shootin at a few.
